While challenging, Uber Lilith was the only objective a player set to reach level 100 could aim for. And to make matters worse, Uber Lilith didn’t have any meaningful rewards worth the effort. That lack of endgame content is why Diablo 4 has struggled so much these past few months.
But Season of the Blood (S2) overhauled the entire endgame system with the introduction of 5 new endgame bosses, each with a specific loot table allowing you to finally target farm some of the strongest items in the game. This guide covers Duriel’s loot table and how to summon it.
How to Summon Duriel, the King of Maggots
Available in World Tier 4, Echo of Duriel requires players to defeat both Grigoire and Varshan in World Tier 4 to collect:
- Mucus-Slick Eggs from Echo of Varshan
- Shards of Agony from Grigoire
Once you have enough materials, you can summon Uber Duriel. Uber Duriel is the ultimate Endgame Boss this Season (one of two Level 100 Uber Bosses alongside Uber Lilith) and the only boss that can drop Uber Unique items.

- Uber Uniques
- The Smoldering Brimstone Mount
Note that Uber Uniques that drop from Duriel will be guaranteed level 920 items.
Duriel Location: The Gaping Crevasse
Once you’ve gathered all the required materials, you can take them to the Gaping Crevasse, located in the Southern Expanse in Kehjistan. After clearing a couple of short corridors, you’ll arrive at the Altar where you can deposit the required items.
As soon as you enter World Tier 4, the Gaping Crevasse will appear on your map and mini-map. There are no requirements to enter, but you’ll need the necessary items to summon Duriel.
How to defeat Duriel
All Endgame Bosses have an elemental theme to encourage players to farm the appropriate elemental resist gear. Duriel deals Poison damage, so you should increase your Poison resistance as much as possible. You can always use a Potent Elixir of Poison Resistance if you can’t reach the 70% Poison resistance cap through your gear.
How Endgame Bosses Work
Endgame Bosses are meant to add more goals, things to do, and ways to make our characters more powerful. These Bosses are Blizzard’s response to the harsh criticism that D4 lacks Endgame content. But how will they work?
Endgame Bosses will be available in World Tier 3 and World Tier 4. Each Boss will have specific requirements to summon it, and each will have a pre-defined loot table that will include specific Unique Items and Cosmetics (and Uber Duriel will even have a low chance to drop Uber Uniques!). This guide covers all you need to know about these bosses.
Before you go…
Don’t forget that in order to Summon Duriel, you’ll need first to defeat Vershan and Grigoire. We cover Vershan’s loot table and Grigoire’s loot table here.
