Outbreak Perfected: God Rolls, Catalyst & How to get it

by | May 14, 2024

Outbreak Perfected had a stellar Exotic quest that was removed from the game. Three years later, the fan-favorite quest, Zero Hour, is back in the game as part of the Into the Light release.

Plus, Outbreak Perfect returns to us a craftable weapon. Today, we cover how powerful this revamped Exotic Pulse rifle is and tell you how to get both the weapon and catalyst.

How to get Outbreak Perfected?

You can acquire the Outbreak Perfected by completing The Zero Hour Exotic Mission on any difficulty setting. Zero Hour is free to all players and can be accessed through the Into the Light tab.

Outbreak Perfected is now craftable

You can obtain the craftable version of Outbreak Perfected for free by completing the Zero Hour Exotic mission. Unlocking new perks will require subsequent clears. As explained by Bungie:

  • First completion of the mission on Normal or Legendary difficulty will award the Exotic Deepsight weapon associated with the mission. Extracting or dismantling this Deepsight weapon will grant the pattern.
  • Each completion of the Normal or Legendary version of the Exotic mission will award an intrinsic upgrade that can be used when crafting the Exotic weapon.

How to get Outbreak Perfected’s Catalyst

The Outbreak Perfected Catalyst can be acquired by completing Zero Hour on Legendary difficulty. The catalyst adds the following Exotic perk:

  • Disease Vector: Increases nanite damage. Enemies that die with nanites attached to them generate additional nanites.

How good is the “new” Outbreak Perfected?

Outbreak Perfected features a unique Exotic perk and archetype that set it apart:

  • The Corruption Spreads: This weapon creates SIVA nanite swarms on rapid hits and precision kills.
  • Parasitism: This weapon does more damage to enemies based on the number of SIVA nanites that attach to them.

Outbreak Perfected is pretty mediocre right now. Pulse Rifles aren’t too strong inside of PvE right now, and Outbreak’s archetype in PvP is outclassed by some other options too. However, the potential perks available are very interesting for both high-end PvE and the Crucible.

In the past, Outbreak Perfected was considered a solid backup damage option thanks to its ramping damage with the Parasitism and The Corruption Spreads traits. Combining this with other players who are also using Outbreak Perfected allows you to deal some surprising damage for a primary weapon. However, it has been rather outclassed by options like Touch of Malice or even Hierarchy of Needs in certain circumstances. However, this could all change with the upcoming available perks that will be on the crafted variant of Outbreak.

A-tier for PvE A-tier for PvP

Outbreak Perfected God Rolls and Perk Pool

Outbreak Perfected can roll with the following perks:

  • Trait: Outlaw, Rapid Hit, Rewind Rounds, Headseeker
  • Stock: Fitted Stock, Short-Action Stock, Composite Stock, Hand-Laid Stock

Outbreak Perfected PvE God rolls

  • Barrel: Fluted Barrel or Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Alloy Magazine or Accurised Rounds
  • Trait: Rewind Rounds (also good: Rapid Hit)
  • Stock: Composite Stock

Being a lightweight Pulse Rifle, players should look for some range, meaning Hammer-Forged Rifling or Accurised Rounds are good, but Fluted Barrel and Alloy Magazine provide some quality of life through faster reloads, better handling, and higher stability.

Rewind Rounds is the clear choice for the perk slot, as it allows you to deal much more potential damage thanks to the weapon reloading itself, allowing you to stack many more nanites. However, Rapid Hit will also feel great on the gun, as Outbreak is all about precision.

Outbreak Perfected PvP God rolls

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Accurised Rounds
  • Trait: Headseeker
  • Stock: Composite Stock

Range is the name of the game for many Pulse Rifles, meaning that Hammer-Forged Rifling and Accurised Rounds are very important as they help Outbreak contest longer-range weapons like Scout Rifles and other archetypes of Pulse Rifles.

Headseeker is a very solid perk and can add some forgiveness to the weapon through damage and aim assist, making Outbreak very easy to use in PvP with a respectable 0.87 time-to-kill.
