If there was ever a contender to VS Velocity Baton, it’s Ouster Engine. While it might lack Attrition Orbs, it more than makes up for it with perks like Chaos Reshaped or Chain Reaction, and it even comes with Crystalline Corpsebloom for that Stasis power fantasy.

How good is Ouster Engine
Area Denials remain a staple for ad-clear even after their Attrition Orbs nerf, and Ouster Engine is probably the best out of the small pool we have.
While it lacks the aforementioned perk, what it does have makes it a potent, clear weapon or a solid weapon for damage rotations. Eat your heart out, VS Velocity Baton. Ouster Engine is S-Tier for PvE and D-tier for PvP.

Quick Launch and High Velocity Rounds are pretty much the standard barrel and mag option for area denials as they bump what is usually their lowest stat, so we’ll be using those here as well.
Perk 1 has a lot of solid choices, but Air Trigger is arguably your best of the bunch. Not only does it provide some much-needed reload speed buffs, but it also juices your ammo generation stat! Perk 2 also has a lot of solid choices, but Chaos Reshaped or Chain Reaction are arguably your best options, with Crystalline Corpsebloom as a decent alternative. Both help increase the ad clear potential, but Chaos Reshaped takes a bit of time to reach full strength.

With a weak archetype for PvP and no redeeming perks, this weapon is not worth chasing to take into the Crucible.

Ouster Engine can drop from participating in the Pinnacle Ops playlist. You can also attune to it to increase your chances of obtaining it when farming the playlist.
