Destiny 2 No Time to Explain + Catalyst: How to get them

by | Mar 11, 2024

No Time to Explain is a Kinetic Exotic pulse rifle from the Beyond Light expansion. Despite receiving a few nerfs to prevent it from routinely dominating the Crucible, it is still one of the best PvP weapons in the game.

For that reason alone, all Guardians should have this Pulse rifle in their vaults, just in case… Today, we cover how powerful this Exotic Pulse rifle is and tell you how to get both the weapon and the catalyst.

How to get the No Time to Explain Catalyst

The No Time to Explain catalyst can be acquired by completing the “Soon” quest, which you can acquire from the Exo Stranger in Europa. The quest has only 2 requirements:

  • Defeat enemies in the BrayTech Facility to obtain five Schematic Code Fragments.
  • Defeat 60 Vex using No Time To Explain in Nexus, Infinitude, and The Glassway.

The Catalyst grants the following Exotic Trait:

  • Blast from the Side: Projectiles from the time portal shoots more frequently.

Once acquired, you’ll need 700 weapon kills to unlock it. Using typical farming methods such as Shuro Chi or the opening section of Grasp of Avarice will speed things along.

How to get No Time to Explain this Season

No Time to Explain was previously only available to players who owned the Deluxe Edition of the Beyond Light expansion. But nowadays, No Time to Explain is rewarded to all players after finishing the Beyond Light campaign and visiting the Exo Stranger on Europa (owning the Deluxe edition is no longer required).

How Good is No Time to Explain

In spite of receiving several nerfs, No Time to Explain is still a PvP powerhouse. It features the following perks:

  • Rewind Again: Precision shots and shots against combatants slowed or frozen by Stasis will return to the magazine.
  • Feeding Frenzy: Each rapid kill with this weapon progressively increases reload speed for a short time.

An exceptional pick in PvP (and a fun one in PvE), No Time to Explain’s ability to provide you with an extra set of bullets continues to be helpful in most areas of the game.
