How to get Destiny 2’s Season of Dawn armor

by | Mar 26, 2024

One of the most criticized parts of Destiny 2 is the systematic removal of content, including activities and gear. Bungie has confessed that its FOMO approach to seasonal content went too far and promised to do better.

Last season, Bungie took another step in the right direction with the return of gear from previous Season Passes. Today, it just re-released the Season of Dawn armor sets.

How to get the Virtous armor this season

The Season of Dawn Ornaments are now available on the Eververse store (week 18). Sadly, these ornaments are unavailable for Bright Dust and will cost a whopping 1,500 Silver per Class.

Virtuous Ornaments: Season of Dawn Armor

Until recently, armor sets from the Season Pass would become unavailable as soon as the season ended. This meant that if you missed a season, there was no way to acquire that season’s armor sets and ornaments. This was the case for the premium Season of Dawn armor sets, the Virtuous Ornaments:

An Eververse “event”

But on August 24, 2023, Bungie confirmed that gear from previous Season Passes would return to the game. And they started last season with Season of the Worthy gear, including the Valkyrian ornaments:

Later in Season of the Witch, we’re planning on bringing back a selection of cosmetic items from previous Season Passes to the Eververse, for players who missed out on acquiring them. We’ll be starting with a handful of items from Season of the Worthy.

In the future, other Seasonal items may return. More info on future offerings at a later date.

The trend continued this season with the release of the Undying Ornaments and now the Dawn Ornaments:

Good idea, terrible implementation

The idea to bring back gear from previous seasons was great. It helps combat FOMO and bring loot from the past back to the forefront. However, making this available for Silver leaves a bad taste. As pointed out by several users on Twitter, acquiring all Season of Dawn items today will cost you roughly $70 compared to the $10 they initially cost as part of the Season of Dawn Season Pass:

  • Cost of all items: 7,000 Silver ($70)
  • Armor Ornament Set: 1,500 ($15) or 4,500 Silver ($45) for all three Classes
  • Weapon Ornament: 700 Silver  ($7)
  • Exotic Emote: 1,000 Silver ($10)
  • Finisher: 800 Silver ($8)

Before you go…

Are you looking for cheaper but still great armor? Don’t miss all the other exciting new Armor sets released with Season of the Wish (S23).
