How good is Unwavering Duty
Unwavering Duty shares excellent company in the 450RPM bracket of Machine Guns and is one of the best in its field when running all levels of content in the current meta. It’s unique here because of its Solar element; this gives it access to perks other Machine Guns at the top of the mountain just can’t obtain, making Unwavering Duty a must-have weapon in the current sandbox.
Holding some great perks, it can easily be built into pure damage or as a great mob-clearing tool. You can double up on damage with Rampage / Killing Tally or can feed into the ammo economy with Subsistence. Cascade Point is an all-around fun perk with the increased RPM able to melt the faces off tougher foes or quickly dispatch a full room. Bait and Switch is another great perk to play with when cycling through weapons to add big amounts of damage to your enemies. Unwavering Duty is A-Tier for PvE and B-tier for PvP.

Unwavering Duty PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Smallbore |
| Magazine | Appended Mag |
| Perk 1 | Incandescent (also good: Rampage, Subsistence) |
| Perk 2 | Killing Tally (also good: Onslaught) |
| Masterwork | Stability or Reload |
| Origin Trait | Roar of Battle |
In PvE, Unwavering Duty can be a workhorse for the Fireteam. Easily shredding through mobs or laying down solid damage to tougher foes. Appended Mag granting extra ammo is a great starting point; then, the main perks focus on crowd control and ramping up the damage.
Incandescent paired with Killing Tally is a rare combination, so one we should take full advantage of. Incandescent causes Solar explosions when taking down enemies, which also spread to surrounding enemies, inflicting scorch damage. The damage can then be increased by weapon damage buffs, leading us into the final perk, Killing Tally. After 3 kills, the damage is increased to 30% and with how hard Unwavering Duty hits, you will have no problem getting this rolling. Taking down tougher enemies causes bigger explosions, spreading Scorch into a wider radius, and rewarding the kill with room-clearing capabilities when filled with lower-tier mobs.
There’s plenty to mix and match to suit certain playstyles, such as switching to Onslaught, increasing the weapons’ RPM, or adding Rampage with Killing Tally for the stacking damage bonus. You could easily have several rolls of Unwavering Duty for different situations, and it will always do a top-tier job.
Unwavering Duty PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
| Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
| Perk 1 | Dynamic Sway Reduction |
| Perk 2 | Tap the Trigger (also good: Killing Tally) |
| Masterwork | Range |
| Origin Trait | Fleet Footed |
Unwavering Duty is a solid choice in PvP for its accuracy and effectiveness at Range. Dynamic Sway Reduction adds consistency when holding down the trigger, while Tap the Trigger gives an initial boost of Stability, effectively maxing out the stat. This gives Unwavering Duty an advantage going into any gunfight, as the initial trigger pull will always reward an accurate hand.
Killing Tally is also a solid option here for its added damage bonus and making it easier to chain kills, which would be most effective in the 6v6 playlists.
