Released with The Edge of Fate DLC, Synanceia is a
Strand Adaptive Trace Rifle that can be farmed by participating in the Arms Week event. Unless you can’t farm those top picks, Ribbontail isn’t worth waiting around for. This guide covers its place in the current Meta, top rolls for PvE and PvP, and how to farm it.

How good is Ribbontail
Off first impressions, Ribbontail isn’t the strongest trace rifle we’ve gotten, even while solely looking at its competition in the kinetic slot.
In PvE, trace rifles are typically used as a utility weapon in double special loadouts. Shoot to Loot is among one of the most popular perks here, and sadly, it’s something Ribbontail is sorely lacking. In reality, you’re fighting with an abysmal majority of perks here, making Ribbontail not worth farming.
Ribbontail is sadly even worse in The Crucible, where it really doesn’t feature any perks worth utilizing. Most consistent damage perks for trace rifles, like Target Lock, are also absent, making this weapon rather useless in PvP. Ribbontail is C-Tier for PvE and C-Tier for PvP.

Ribbontail Perks and God Rolls
The Ribbontail Strand trace rifle can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Envious Arsenal, Transcendent Moment, Subsistence, Threat Detector, Wellspring, Proximity Power.
- Perk 2: Surrounded, Detonator Beam, Tear, Binary Orbit, Redirection, Killing Tally.
- Origin Trait: Tenacity, Omolon Fluid Dynamics.
Ribbontail PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
| Battery | Light Battery |
| Perk 1 | Subsistence |
| Perk 2 | Killing Tally or Detonator Beam |
| Masterwork | Handling |
| Origin Trait | Tenacity |
Fluted Barrel, Light Battery, and a handling masterwork provide extra handling and reload speed, both of which are crucial for PvE.
Subsistence is our pick for column three; while you could totally argue for some other selections here (Threat Detector or perhaps even Wellspring), they’re so niche that you’re unlikely to get consistent benefits from them. As for our final perk, Killing Tally is a decent option for raw damage, but Detonator Beam is worth mentioning due to its general strength and ability to easily handle those pesky Imp Swarms.
Ribbontail PvP god rolls
Considered C-Tier, Ribbontail is absolutely not worth chasing for PvP…
