Destiny 2’s newest dungeon, Sundered Doctrine, is finally out. While it seemed awfully challenging at first, the removal of Contest mode has made it accessible to all players, and Guardians are storming in to gain some new loot.
Today, we’ll talk about one of the four legendary weapons available from this activity: the Unsworn trace rifle.

How good is Unsworn
In previous seasons, trace rifles were in a weird in-between state in the meta. Now that they’ve been buffed; however, weapons like Unsworn are becoming frequent picks for many players.
Unsworn has pretty much every perk you’d ever want in PvE. From Killing Tally to Tear to Shoot to Loot to the new Detonator Beam, Unsworn can fit every scenario you put it up against.
Sadly, Unsworn is significantly weaker in The Crucible. Nothing appears to be geared toward PvP, making this a poor choice. Unsworn is S-Tier for PvE and D-tier for PvP.

Unsworn Perks & God Rolls
The Unsworn strand trace rifle can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Tear, Thresh, Stats for All, Shoot to Loot, Subsistence, Rewind Rounds.
- Perk 2: Hatchling, Detonator Beam, Killing Tally, Target Lock, Bait and Switch, Elemental Honing.
- Origin Trait: Subjugation.

In PvE, we’ll begin with Fluted Barrel, Light Battery, and a handling masterwork for a nice sweep of potent stats.
From there, Shoot to Loot and Detonator Beam proves to be a monster of a combo for high-level activities, especially when using a double special weapon or Cenotaph Mask loadout. Tear is also worth mentioning in the first column, a new perk that offers some significant utility against larger groups of enemies.
