How good is Prophet of Doom

In terms of PvE, Prophet of Doom comes in as just a classic 1-2 Punch shotgun. This is mainly due to pellet shotguns just not being that great in PvE, 

In terms of PvP, Prophet of Doom is now arguably the best choice for a precision frame shotgun. With a very similar stat package and perk pool to Matador 64, with the bonus of it being craftable and not having to farm for a specific roll, Prophet takes the top spot.

Prophet of Doom Perks & God Rolls

The Prophet of Doom shotgun can roll with the following perks:

• Perk 1: Pugilist, Envious Arsenal, Slideways, Threat Remover, Air Trigger, Threat Detector, Reconstruction.
• Perk 2: Barrel Constrictor, Trench Barrel, One-Two Punch, Opening Shot, Cascade Point, Closing Time, Voltshot.
• Origin Trait: Photoinhibition.

PvE Roll: All-Around

Perk 1	Pugilist
Perk 2	One-Two Punch
Masterwork	Handling

Barrel Shroud is recommended for the increased Handling allowing the weapon to be equipped quickly when needed. Assault Mag is recommended for the increased rate of fire, allowing a higher uptime on One-Two Punch.

Pugilist is recommended as it also synergises well with One-Two Punch, since you will almost always be using melees then the increased Handling will be active for the majority of the time.

One-Two Punch is recommended due to how strong it is when paired with Synthoceps builds, which are now available on every class and are capable of putting out very high damage numbers.

Perk 1	Threat Detector
Perk 2	Opening Shot (also good: Closing Time)
Masterwork	Handling

Barrel Shroud is recommended due to the increased Handling and Stability. When paired with Threat Detector at 1 stack, which is always active in shotgun range, nets a total of 70 Handling and 72 Stability. This makes it harder to get flinched off your target and also a very fast ready speed of 0.28 seconds.

Accurized Rounds is recommended due to the +10 range, which paired with Opening Shot gives the weapon a total 92 Range. Closing Time can also be good, as ammo is always low in Crucible, meaning the perk is almost always active, and also grants extra Range and Handling.

How to get Prophet of Doom

Prophet of Doom can be obtained by completing the second encounter of the Garden of Salvation Raid. With the reprisal of Garden of Salvation, Prophet of Doom is also now craftable, requiring 5 Deepsight Patterns collected either from second encounter drops, or one guaranteed per week as a reward for completing Hawthorne’s quest.
