How good is Sacred Provenance
Compared to other readily available Aggressive Burst rifles, its stats are mostly comparable, with its range being the biggest disparity. However, seeing as they’re mostly PvE weapons, it matters little. It also shares a good chunk of its perk pool with Blast Furnace, its main competitor, with some minor differences. What it really has going for it is being craftable. While attunement has made Onslaught farming easier, it’s not a guarantee that you’ll get the 5/5, so Sacred is here as a nice alternative.
In PvP, it’s a toss up. High Impact Pulse Rifles are still extremely prevalent in the Crucible, even after the recent sandbox overhaul, and Blast Furnace has far more base Stability and Range. While Sacred can roll with perks like Killing Wind to help boost range and comes with the coveted Ricochet Rounds, it’s not enough to push this into “must have” territory. Though, if you are a fan of the frame, it will work very well for you, especially with its base 70 recoil direction.

---|---|
Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
Magazine | Flared Magwell |
Perk 1 | Rapid-Hit or Demolitionist |
Perk 2 | Frenzy (also good: Desperate Measures) |
Masterwork | Reload Speed |
As Aggressive Bursts tend to have some of the lowest Handling, Fluted Barrel is going to be our best friend for bumping that up as well as Stability. Flared Magwell is going to help a lot with the slow reloads, and a Reload Speed masterwork will help it even more.
For Perk 1, Rapid-Hit or Demolitionist are equally viable picks. Rapid-Hit is great for speedy reloads and keeping follow-up shots on target, and Demo’s free grenade energy and mag refill after tossing one is perfect for ability builds. Perk 2 has a lot of options, but we’ve found Frenzy to be a no-brainer. While Desperate Measures is a solid alternative, Frenzy’s stat buffs are what make most gravitate towards it, even if bigger damage buffs exist in the same slot. However, pairing it with Rapid-Hit negates the stat bonuses, so keep that in mind.
Sacred Provenance PvP god rolls
PvP Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Extended Barrel |
Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
Perk 1 | Killing Wind or Rapid-Hit |
Perk 2 | Headseeker (also good: Desperado) |
Masterwork | Stability |
As mentioned earlier, Sacred Provenance has a base 70 recoil direction, which means Arrowhead Break would push this to 100. However, given that it’s got less range than others in its class, throwing on Extended Barrel is more recommended, as it also gives a bump to recoil direction, and when paired with Counterbalance Stock, makes it 95, which is as vertical as possible without hitting 100. Ricochet Rounds is a no-brainer as it gives bumps to both Range and Stability.
Perk 1 has some good PvP options, with Killing Wind and Rapid-Hit being the top two. Killing Wind will help push that effective TTK range out quite a bit, and Rapid-Hit’s stability and reload bumps help keep you in the fight longer. Perk 2 has the coveted Headseeker (and not much else). Desperado is a nice alternative thanks to its fire rate buff, but the forgiveness Headseeker offers is what will make most take it over anything else.
How to get Sacred Provenance
Sacred Provenance can be obtained through the Garden of Salvation raid, located on The Moon. Specifically, it will drop from the 3rd encounter, which is the Consecrated Mind boss. That makes it a little more challenging to farm than others, but not impossible.
It will also possibly drop as a Deepsight variant upon completion of the Deepsight Signal quest from Hawthorne, and you can purchase one each week from her as well (after doing the quest). We cover the entire Garden of Salvation Loot Table here.
