How good is Someday going to be?
Someday is shaping up to be one of the best shotguns for PvP right now. As a Kinetic Precision frame shotgun, it may be able to secure those clutch headshot kills from a greater distance than other shotgun archetypes.
Someday also has Threat Remover in its perk pool, which is brand new to Destiny 2. With this perk, dealing damage with all bullets in a spread increases reload speed, handling, and stability.
As with all destination weapons available in the Pale Heart, it comes packing the Dealer’s Choice origin trait, which grants a small amount of Super energy for each kill, and, with multiple Pale Heart weapons equipped, you can increase the potency of this effect.

Barrel | Smallbore |
Magazine | Assault Mag |
Perk 1 | Lead from Gold |
Perk 2 | Recombination |
Masterwork | Reload |
In PvE, Someday will be an effective option as well. We will start with Smallbore and Assault Mag as our barrel and magazine for our PvE roll. Smallbore will increase our range and stability, while Assault Mag will provide us with the ability to fire our slugs faster while maintaining stability to maximize our DPS.
In perk column 1, we want Lead from Gold which will allow us to pick up heavy ammo bricks to grant ammo to this weapon as well. In column 2, we will pick Recombination. This perk has long been a favorite in Destiny 2. Elemental final blows will increase the damage of the weapon, up to 100% damage in PvE. Slug shotguns can often be a smart secondary option for dealing boss damage, and Recombination will help you maximize that damage output.

Barrel | Barrel Shroud |
Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
Perk 1 | Elemental Capacitor |
Perk 2 | Opening Shot |
Masterwork | Range |
For our barrel, you will want Barrel Shroud to increase handling and stability. This will help make sure you can get the jump on your opponents as you ready the weapon. For our magazine, we’ll want to pick Accurized Rounds to increase our range to engage opposing guardians from further away.
For our perks, we want Elemental Capacitor and Opening Shot in perk columns 1 and 2 respectively. Ensure that you are either using an Arc subclass or an Arc super with Prismatic to take advantage of Elemental Capacitor’s +50 to handling. Opening Shot will ensure that the first shot you take on your opponent has increased range and accuracy, which is vital when utilizing shotguns.
Overall, the combination of Elemental Capacitor and Opening Shot makes this a particularly dangerous shotgun at great range for its weapon type.
