How good is Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a top-tier weapon in PvP and ranks highly in the current meta. An excellent weapon for fast switching to clear up or even to stifle the enemy team in close quarters, Forgiveness feels like it can do it all. Holding a strong perk variety, it will reward an accurate hand richly when in battle. Its PvE roll is also in a great place, utilising damage boosting perks and combining them with its powerful Arc heritage. Forgiveness is worth the chase when it becomes available in Trials of Osiris.
It also holds something for any Guardian to push towards to suit a build, from pure damage perks to make it a heavier hitter or for use as a backup weapon to switch to quickly. Forgiveness is one of the hottest pieces of gear in Trials of Osiris right now. Forgiveness is A-Tier for PvE and S-Tier for PvP.

Forgiveness PvE god rolls
| PvPERoll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
| Magazine | Flared Magwell |
| Perk 1 | Voltshot (also good: Demolitionist) |
| Perk 2 | Surrounded (also good: Desperate Measures) |
| Masterwork | Handling |
| Origin Trait | Roar of Battle |
Forgiveness shines in PvP, but it can also be a great asset in PvE. Start with Fluted Barrel for its Handling benefits and pair it with Flared Magwell to increase Reload Speed, which will benefit its main perk, Voltshot.
Any Arc enjoyer will know Voltshot is a great perk in almost any level of content when it comes to clearing out waves of mobs, and Forgiveness gets the best out of it here when paired with Surrounded. When 3 or more enemies are nearby, Forgiveness is granted a 40% damage buff, and as it already hits hard, this turns Forgiveness into a real machine. Using damage buff to take out enemies, reload, and Voltshot is ready to go. With the 40% damage boost, this pairing will have no problem tearing through enemies and electrifying your way to victory.
Forgiveness PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Smallbore |
| Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
| Perk 1 | Zen Moment (also good: Lone Wolf, Tap the Trigger) |
| Perk 2 | Headseeker (also good: Kill clip) |
| Masterwork | Range |
| Origin Trait | Fleet Footed |
Forgiveness comes with a solid base to build from, thanks to its starting stats. Building up its key stats with Smallbore and Ricochet Rounds, this enhances its Range and Stability, further increasing its potency.
Start with Zen Moment, which adds flinch resistance and keeps the reticle steady after landing shots. This is a great advantage to have when starting in a gunfight. As you land more shots, Forgiveness becomes more effective. Top this off with Headseeker for its increased aim assist and how it interacts with the Heavy Burst frame. Each burst kicks up, so it’s likely that any shot to the upper chest will result in a bodyshot to headshot. This gives each burst a damage bonus, which can make all the difference in the arena.
