As part of Rite of the Nine’s dungeon refreshes, Liminal Vigil received a slightly updated perk pool that pushes it more towards being a Stasis-focused weapon, rather than a generalist with a Stasis perk. How good is Liminal Vigil?
Heavy Burst (2-burst) sidearms are rather popular for their ability to take down major combatants with relative ease, and the buff they received earlier this year has only enhanced that capability. Liminal Vigil aims to be no different, even if it lost its most hard-hitting perk in Surrounded. Desperate Measures, while not as effective, can still reach a solid 30%, and the pairing of Headstone and Rimestealer gives Stasis users a solid primary option.
In PvP, they’re slowly becoming sleeper picks thanks to their fast TTK, which is made even faster by the swath of easy damage perks. Liminal not only rolls with some amazing consistency perks like Lone Wolf or Tap the Trigger, but has perks like Kill Clip or Desperate Measures to lower the TTK even more! Liminal Vigil is B-Tier for PvE and A-tier for PvP.

Like all good PvE rolls, we’re going with Fluted Barrel and Tactical Mag as our choices for Liminal Vigil. While these are normally good overall, these bump Liminal’s worst stats to a marketable degree. A Reload Speed masterwork will be vital to helping your reloads not feel sluggish.
Headstone is arguably the go to pick here for Perk 1. While Attrition Orbs sounds nice, it’s going to take more than half your mag to get a proc off, and given the slow reload speed, it’s not really the best. Enlightened Action, however, is a solid alternative as it massively helps your reloads along with handling. As for Perk 2, Desperate Measures or Rimestealer are your best bets. Desperate Measures offers a 30% damage boost at max stacks, and Rimestealer pairs oh so well with Headstone.

As Liminal already has a near-perfect recoil stat, we’ll be opting to increase our range and stability through Smallbore and Accurized Rounds, along with a Range masterwork. This will push the ADS range out to 17 meters while also keeping it rather steady.
Perk 1 is a close call between Tap the Trigger and Lone Wolf. Lone Wolf, despite the nerf, is still a very good consistency perk to help keep your aim on target, and Tap the Trigger ensures each burst bears little recoil, especially when paired with the origin trait. For Perk 2, Desperate Measures and Kill Clip are both excellent choices. Desperate Measures x1 and Kill Clip both lower the TTK to .47s, but the difference lies in how many crits are required, with Desperate Measures needing 4 over the 3 of Kill Clip, and this does not come into parity until x3 stacks of DM. So, pick what feels more optimal to your playstyle.
How to get the Liminal Vigil
The new version of Liminal Vigil is a part of the Rite of the Nine event. It can be attuned for at the event’s social space, increasing its drop chance.
As for actual sources, the weapon can drop from the Spire of the Watcher dungeon, and also has a chance to drop from the chest featured in the social space for 250 Nonary Manifolds.
