Re-issued with the Ash & Iron Major Update, Arcane Embrace is an
Arc Heavy Burst Shotgun that can be farmed by participating in the Festival of the Lost. Arcane Embrace received a refresh with new perks, but is it any good? This guide covers its place in the current Meta, top rolls for PvE and PvP, and how to farm it.

How good is Arcane Embrace
Arcane Embrace is pretty average. As a Heavy Burst Shotgun, it is rather unique as it fires two shots, similar to Heavy Burst Hand Cannons, but unlike their Hand Cannon counterparts, Arcane Embrace doesn’t do a ton to shake up any DPS meta.
In PvE, Arcane Embrace has a few solid perks that synergise quite well with the weapon’s archetype, but the base damage of this weapon type is simply lower than other competitive damage options like Mint Retrograde, Pure Recollection, or even a well-rolled Unvoiced. However, if you don’t have an Unvoiced and are using something else in your Kinetic slot, Arcane Embrace isn’t a terrible way to go.
PvP-wise, Arcane Embrace is a let-down. It doesn’t one-shot to the head without a damage buff, and while Slug Shotgun-style weapons are strong, Arcane Embrace doesn’t really follow this trend, sadly. Arcane Embrace is B-Tier for PvE and C-Tier for PvP.

Arcane Embrace PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
| Magazine | Tactical Mag |
| Perk 1 | Fourth Time’s the Charm |
| Perk 2 | Aggregate Charge or Precision Instrument |
| Masterwork | Handling |
To start off, Fluted Barrel combined with Tactical Mag is the ideal choice for our barrel and magazine perks. Fluted is standard for most PvE Special Weapons, and Tactical Mag will allow another four shots from Fourth Time’s The Charm.
In perk slot one, we suggest Fourth Time’s The Charm, it is the only viable option in the first column and drastically improves the total damage of this weapon. For perk slot two, there is a bit of competition. Aggregate Charge is technically higher damage, but can be hard to activate on your own, so Precision Instrument is a strong alternative, but both are generally fine overall.
Arcane Embrace PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Smallbore |
| Magazine | Accurised Rounds |
| Perk 1 | Lone Wolf |
| Perk 2 | Dragonfly or Surrounded |
| Masterwork | Range |
For our barrel, we’re opting for Smallbore as our main pick with Accurised Rounds as the magazine. This combo will give us a good amount of Range, which is always helpful on Shotguns, but also a touch of Stability to help us keep that second shot on target.
For perks, Lone Wolf is the clear winner in perk slot one as it improves the aim assist, airborne effectiveness, and aim-down-sights (ADS) speed of the weapon. For perk slot two, we suggest either Surrounded or Dragonfly. Surrounded is the only damage buff that doesn’t require you to shoot in perk slot two, allowing you to potentially one-shot with it. On the other hand, Dragonfly can be fun and cause AoE damage to allow you to finish off a nearby enemy with a single shot of the burst, or potentially two body shots.
