Released with the Ash & Iron Major Update, Synanceia is a
Strand Precision Combat Bow that can be farmed by participating in the Festival of the Lost. Being the first legendary bow that really makes use of Strand, it does have some interesting applications. This guide covers its place in the current Meta, top rolls for PvE and PvP, and how to farm it.

How good is Hushed Whisper
Hushed Whisper is an interesting weapon, being a Strand bow that uses Strand more than the other only option, Vengeful Whisper. Namely, the inclusion of Tear makes this more viable in PvE as a Strand option, being the only way to get this effect on a bow. However, in general, this bow is merely outclassed by other options due to Strand being the weakest of the subclasses. There are a myriad of better bows available to use that’ll be better in most content.
In PvP, it does have a better application, in that it’s a Precision Bow that can roll Lone Wolf + Archer’s Gambit. This means that it can have a TTK of ~1 second with two hits (one precision and one non-precision), which Lone Wolf helps you to achieve. While bows may not be the meta in PvP, this is probably the best option if you want to use one. Hushed Whisper is B-Tier for PvE and A-tier for PvP.

Hushed Whisper PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Bowstring | Polymer String |
| Arrow | Compact Arrow Shaft |
| Perk 1 | Tear |
| Perk 2 | Explosive Head (also good: Hatchling) |
| Masterwork | Accuracy |
| Origin Trait | Wild Card |
Hushed Whisper is only really good when you’re utilising Tear, and so we want to play into that as much as possible. For the Barrel and Magazine, we’ve gone for Polymer String and Compact Arrow Shaft to boost Accuracy and Draw Time respectively, so you can keep Tear up easily.
In the first perk column, Tear is the main option here. Otherwise, there’s not really much here that feels important enough for PvE, at least to warrant using it over other PvE bows.
In the second column, Explosive Head is the go-to. For a Strand bow, Hatchling seems like it would be the first pick, but Threadlings are still underwhelming (even with their buffs). For pure damage Aggregate Charge is decent but requires setup, whereas Explosive Head is just going to help you in your clearing and make the bow pack a bit more of a punch.
Hushed Whisper PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Bowstring | Polymer String |
| Arrow | Fiberglass Arrow Shaft |
| Perk 1 | Lone Wolf |
| Perk 2 | Archer’s Gambit |
| Masterwork | Reload Speed |
| Origin Trait | Wild Card |
In PvP, time-to-kill (TTK) is vital in figuring out how good a weapon is, and if used correctly Hushed Whisper has a great optimal TTK of 0.90-1.0s (with two shots, one precision and one non-precision).
Because of this, we want to optimise to be able to keep the TTK as low as we can without sacrificing accuracy, meaning that we end up with Polymer String and Fiberglass Arrow Shaft. This gives us a TTK of 0.96 seconds, which is 0.06 seconds slower than the most optimal time, but provides a massive accuracy boost to help facilitate getting the two-tap much more easily. The reload speed masterwork is vital here, too.
As for the perks, the only options are Lone Wolf and Archer’s Gambit. Lone Wolf will help you hit those precision shots with its extra aim-assist, and Archer’s Gambit turns the first precision hit into a quick second hit to facilitate the quick kill. With this, you have a PvP menace.
