How good is Agape
Agape has pretty much everything you could really want on a Hand Cannon: good base damage, strong utility perks, and good AoE potential. However, it can be difficult to get past the VERY clunky feel of the weapon, thanks to the obnoxious scope and the cadence of the Double Fire archetype. However, if you can get past that, Agape is objectively a very strong weapon.
In PvP, Agape has serious potential. While the clunky scope and Double Fire awkwardness remain, the potential potency of the weapon can’t be understated. In testing, an Agape with enhanced Precision Instrument was able to two-burst an enemy guardian while I had approximately 130 weapon stat. This is remarkably strong as it grants you a 0.57 time to kill on every guardian (unless they invest in the Health stat). However, other combinations are just as strong, but without half the difficulty or clunkiness. For example, Precision Instrument on a 180 RPM Hand Cannon and a respectable Weapons stat can yield similar results to Agape.
Due to this, Agape is a borderline S-tier weapon, and to some, it very well may be, but from my personal experience, there are some slightly better options. Agape is A-Tier for PvE and A-Tier for PvP.

The Agape Solar hand hannon can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Moving Target, Encore, Outlaw, Heal Clip, Pugilist, Snapshot Sights, and Rewind Rounds.
- Perk 2: Burning Ambition, Incandescent, Fragile Focus, Precision Instrument, Firefly, Vorpal Weapon, and Master of Arms.
- Origin Trait: Exhaustive Research.
Agape PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
| Magazine | Flared Magwell |
| Perk 1 | Heal Clip |
| Perk 2 | Incandescent (also good: Firefly) |
| Masterwork | Reload Speed |
| Origin Trait | Exhaustive Research |
In PvE, quality of life is often king, meaning Fluted Barrel and Flared Magwell are the choices for our barrel and magazine as they boost Handling, Stability, and Reload Speed.
For perk 1, Heal Clip is our suggestion as it’s incredibly useful for general survival and is the clear winner. For perk 2, Incandescent is our pick as it’s a bit more consistent than Firefly, however, Firefly is a decent alternative.
Agape PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Smallbore |
| Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
| Perk 1 | Encore or Moving Target |
| Perk 2 | Precision Instrument |
| Masterwork | Stability or Range |
| Origin Trait | Exhaustive Research |
In PvP, Range and Stability are traditionally the way to go on primary weapons, so Smallbore and Ricochet Rounds are our picks.
In perk slot 1, Encore and Moving Target are both solid options. Encore provides a bit of a stronger effect, but Moving Target doesn’t require a kill, making it much easier to take advantage of. In perk slot 2, Precision Instrument is our recommended pick. The ability to two-burst when enhanced and at a high Weapon stat bonus is not something to be ignored, making Precision Instrument the clear winner.
