How good is Unloved
In PvE, Double-Fire Hand Cannons are very strong despite not being too popular compared to Precision or Adaptive options due to their strange feel. However, this unpopularity shouldn’t fool you as Heavy Burst Hand Cannons pack quite a punch.
Unloved comes with some decent AoE perks like Dragonfly and Hatchling and some good damage perks like Frenzy and Elemental Honing, which helps it tackle some of the main challenges of Hand Cannons; AoE ad clear and consistent one-two shotting of minor enemies.
In PvP, Unloved isn’t too strong simply because the Double Fire archetype is, well, unloved among PvP players, however, with the strong Origin Trait and Kill Clip, Unloved can pack quite a punch if you can get over the clunky feel of the weapon type. Unloved is A-Tier for PvE and C-tier for PvP.

Unloved PvE god rolls
PvE Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Magazine | Appended Mag |
Perk 1 | Dragonfly (also good: Hatchling) |
Perk 2 | Frenzy (also good: Elemental Honing) |
Masterwork | Stability |
To make this clunky weapon feel slightly better, we are opting for Arrowhead Brake and a Stability Masterwork, as the base stats on this gun are relatively low. Appended Mag is also good for slightly boosting the magazine size. Thankfully, we have Frenzy to help with handling or reload troubles, meaning we can be flexible with our barrel and magazine choices.
For perk 1, we like Dragonfly to give the weapon some AoE potential, but Hatchling can work as an alternative, particularly if you are on Strand. For Perk 2, Frenzy is ideal to boost that Reload Speed while also giving a nice 15% damage boost. However, you can go for Elemental Honing if you want more damage.
Unloved PvP god rolls
PvE Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Smallbore |
Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
Perk 1 | Rapid Hit |
Perk 2 | Kill Clip (also good: Closing Time) |
Masterwork | Stability |
To help with the challenging feel of the weapon, we look to maximise Stability by taking Smallbore, Ricochet Rounds, and a Stability Masterwork. This boosts us up to 52 Stability at base.
For Perk 1, Rapid Hit is our choice as it helps further with the ease of use of the weapon, bringing us an additional 25 Stability at x5 stacks andwoo faster Reload Speed. For perk 2, Kill Clip is recommended as it lets you frag out easily in PvP, as Unloved can kill in two bursts with Kill Clip active. Alternatively, Closing Time can further improve the consistency of the weapon if you would rather have that instead.
How to get Unloved
Unloved comes from the Sundered Doctrine dungeon found in Savathun’s Throne World. However, it only comes from the first or final encounter. While the third encounter may be faster to farm, the loot pool is larger, diluting your odds of receiving the Hand Cannon, so the first encounter may be quicker if you are efficient at it. We cover the full Sundered Doctrine Loot Table here.

Just watched a streamer absolutely destroy with this in pvp comp. Rapid hit and kill clip claps with hip firing and strand targeting. 2 burst kills. Think you need to revisit this in pvp
