How to get the Whirling Ovation Exotic

The Whirling Ovation Exotic drops exclusively from The Desert Perpetual’s final boss. Although we prefer more deterministic Exotic quests that are not connected to RNG, you can complete specific triumphs that increase your chances of earning this Raid Exotic. You can find the entire Desert Perpetual Loot Table here.

Can you farm Whirling Ovation?

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to farm the Whirling Ovation. Raid exotics cannot be farmed infinitely unless their respective raid becomes the weekly featured raid. Alas, Desert Perpetual will not be part of the rotation until a new raid is released, which means you only get a chance to obtain this Exotic once per character per week.

Whirling Ovation drop rate

As with all Raid and Dungeon Exotics, Whirling Ovation is estimated to have a base drop rate of around 5%, based on community-driven data. However, actual drop rates are unknown, as Bungie has never shared that information.

Albeit drop rates for Raid and Dungeon exotics are abysmally low, completing Triumphs will increase raid exotic drop rates. This will also be the case for Whirling Ovation. We’ll update this section as soon as the specific Triumphs are revealed.

How good is the Whirling Ovation Raid Exotic?

Whirling Ovation’s exotic traits are the following:

• Coronal Culmination: Hold to charge; release to fire. Charged projectiles have a delayed Solar payload.
• Anticipation: The charge speed of this weapon’s next shot slowly increases over time. Anticipation builds more quickly as you deal more damage with other weapons.

It is too early to tell, but we assume Whirling Ovation to be a strong Exotic. After all, raid Exotic should always be among the best there is. We will update this section as soon as we can see it in action.
