A new dungeon means new weapons, and the four dropping from Vesper’s Host are quite unique in their own rights. While most eyes will probably be on the special and heavy GLs, a nice little Adaptive Arc Auto slipped into the mix, something fans of Arc Logic will be most happy about. This will cover all you need to know about VS Pyroelectric Propellant.

How good is VS Pyroelectric Propellant
It has been some time since we’ve gotten an Adaptive Arc Auto Rifle (Season 15!), so our only recent comparisons are those of Solar and Void variety, which both have subclass verb perks like Incandescent or Repulsor Brace that elevates them above the standard fare. VS Pyro thankfully has its own lineup of Arc-based perks, such as Eddy Current and Jolting Feedback, while also rolling with strong neutral perks like Rewind Rounds and Onslaught. Its Origin Trait is nothing to sneeze at either, as it gives ability energy from weapon hits, though only for the one closest to full. If it works anything like Bray Inheritance (DSC’s Origin Trait), Jolting Feedback will mean even more energy!
For PvP, Auto Rifles have fallen in and out of favor over the years, with most leaning towards the Precision Frames as of late due to their high crit damage. And, while the nerf isn’t anything too wild, Adaptives did have their crit damage knocked down by .25. Not going to affect effective range TTK all that much, but once you start having drop off, you’ll notice it way more. However, that isn’t to mean that they’re in any way bad and the perks for VS Pyro should help solidify its place amongst the others.

Magazine | Flared Magwell or Tactical Mag |
Perk 1 | Eddy Current or Attrition Orbs |
Perk 2 | Jolting Feedback or Onslaught |
Masterwork | Reload Speed |
While we may not know the exacts of the mags and barrels, we can make an educated guess that the standard fare will appear here. As such, the tried and true combo of Fluted Barrel and Flared Magwell or Tactical Mag will work great here for the bumps to stability, handling, and reload speed.
Perk 1 has two solid PvE perks in Eddy Current and Attrition Orbs. Eddy Current can activate via the Amplified buff, which makes it great for any build that involves Arc, and Attrition Orbs can proc off Jolting Feedback. Both are excellent pairings with either Jolting Feedback or Onslaught. Jolting Feedback allows for easy Jolt application as it is based off of damage, not kills, and applies faster when Amplified! Onslaught is a solid neutral perk as it also gives a reload speed buff on top of the damage it gets, and stacking that with either of your Perk 1 options is just icing on the cake.

Barrel | Smallbore or Arrowhead Break |
Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
Perk 1 | To the Pain or Fragile Focus |
Perk 2 | Closing Time or Kill Clip |
Masterwork | Stability |
Since range and stability are two of the most important stats, Smallbore and Ricochet Rounds are excellent for both of these. Arrowhead offers a nice recoil direction bump, though some might not need it considering the 75 base direction.
Perk 1 sadly lacks the favorite lineup most people are accustomed to, such as DSR or Zen Moment, but To the Pain has become a favorite for dueling as it acts like an easier Eye of the Storm; instead stacking up and only goes away after swapping, meaning much better uptime. Fragile Focus is a great alternative as it boosts range while you’re above critical HP. Perk 2 has a lot of good options, but Closing Time and Kill Clip are the top picks. Closing Time increases range, handling, and aim assist as the mag gets lower, and Kill Clip is just great for those follow-up kills. Target Lock is also viable, though it’s been a toss up for a while.
How to get VS Pyroelectric Propellant
VS Pyroelectric Propellant can drop from the second and third encounters of the Vesper’s Host dungeon, as well as the secret chests hidden within. Both encounters are boss encounters that will require a well-equipped team to farm them efficiently, though many would prefer Raeniks over The Corrupted Puppeteer.
We cover the entire Vesper’s Host Loot Table here.
