After an episode jam-packed with new content and gear, Bungie has delivered yet again with an outstanding end-of-year event: Rite of the Nine.
Not only did the event bring new life into three legacy dungeons through increased difficulty and mechanics—it also reissued some strong yet forgotten weapons. Today, we’ll take a peek at one said weapon: Terminus Horizon.

How good is Terminus Horizon?
After what felt like an overwhelming amount of support for Heresy’s Watchful Eye (another arc machine gun), as well as Thunderlord’s reemergence into the meta, Terminus Horizon should be set up for success, right?
This ends up being true when looking at Terminus’ wide variety of both generic and arc-related perks, especially in the scope of PvE. The only glaring issue is the weapon’s frame, which is generally less desirable due to its slower rate of fire.
As with many heavy weapons, Terminus Horizon hovers around average in PvP. While it doesn’t necessarily do anything wrong, there isn’t anything specific that makes it a stronger pick than anything else.
Terminus Horizon is A-Tier for PvE and B-tier for PvP.

Terminus Horizon PvE god rolls
PvE Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
Magazine | Flared Magwell |
Perk 1 | Reconstruction (also good: Demolitionist or Dragonfly) |
Perk 2 | Killing Tally (also good: Rolling Storm or Jolting Feedback) |
Masterwork | Handling |
Origin Trait | Gravity Well |
We’ll begin our roll with Fluted Barrel, Flared Magwell, and a handling masterwork. This gives a nice sweep of stability and handling, something that isn’t necessary but is rather nice to have.
As for main perks, Reconstruction and Killing Tally are our two main perks due to their general strength and solid synergy. Demolitionist and Rolling Storm are our second picks if you’re instead looking for a weapon for an arc build.
Terminus Horizon PvP god rolls
PvP Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
Perk 1 | Demolitionist |
Perk 2 | Killing Tally |
Masterwork | Stability |
Origin Trait | Tex Balanced Stock |
Most perks in the two main columns here won’t add much for The Crucible, but there’s still definitely some choices that are better than others.
Either way, Fluted Barrel, Ricochet Rounds, and a stability masterwork will serve you well. We then recommend Demolitionist and Killing Tally as primary perks, although as mentioned above, the bonuses offered by these stats aren’t exactly the most potent.
How to get the Terminus Horizon
The new version of Terminus Horizon is a part of the Rite of the Nine event. It can be attuned for at the event’s social space, increasing its drop chance.
As for actual sources, the weapon can drop from the Spire of the Watcher dungeon, and also has a chance to drop from the chest featured in the social space for 250 Nonary Manifolds. Adept variants of Terminus Horizon can also be acquired through Spire of the Watcher on Ultimatum difficulty. You can find the entire Spire of the Watcher Loot table rotation here.
