How good is the Duty Bound
Duty Bound carries solid perks for both PvE and PvP, strongly holding its own against other powerful 600 RPM Auto Rifles. It holds its own well against the current meta picks thanks to lesser-seen perk combinations that add a lot to its game.
Duty Bound shares its Adaptive Frame with fan favourite variations of the same archetype, and this current iteration of the Auto Rifle stands out from the crowd even in the Kinetic slot in this element-heavy meta.
Accessible via Pinnacle Ops, this means Duty Bound is an easy weapon to chase, which should spur Guardians on even more to grab the god roll they desire. Weapons that can cover more than one base, whether for utility or to cause big damage, are always worth hunting down for now and potential future use. Duty Bound is B-Tier for PvE and A-Tier for PvP.

Duty Bound PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
| Magazine | Flared Magwell |
| Perk 1 | Fourth Time’s the Charm (also good: Bewildering Burst) |
| Perk 2 | Triple Tap (also good: Onslaught) |
| Masterwork | Handling |
| Origin Trait | Problem Solver |
Duty Bound’s second run is a strong one, and this god roll comes out swinging for PvE.
Pick this up with Fluted Barrel for the big increase to Handling and combine with Flared Magwell in the Magazine slot for another big increase, but this time for Reload Speed to help get back into the fight quickly after emptying the magazine.
The main perks look to take advantage of a perk combination not seen very regularly on an Auto Rifle, and that is Fourth Time’s the Charm and Triple Tap. Landing precision hits will automatically refill the Magazine. While this may seem like an off-hand gimmick, Duty Bound carries 41 rounds in its base Magazine. This gives scope to regain 3 bullets for every 4 precision shots landed in quick succession, with these perks working in tandem. Onslaught is an excellent second here for ramping up this weapon to bullet hose levels.
Duty Bound PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
| Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
| Perk 1 | Stopping Power (also good: Lone Wolf) |
| Perk 2 | Rampage (also good: Dynamic Sway Reduction) |
| Masterwork | Range |
| Origin Trait | Vanguard Determination |
Duty Bound holds its own effectively in The Crucible, and recent trends show that Auto Rifles are still competitive in the sandbox, and Duty Bound can be the right tool for the job.
Look for Arrowhead Brake first; it helps keep recoil in check and helps keep shots on target in a gunfight. Add on Accurized Rounds for its boost to Range, this makes Duty Bound lock down longer sight lines with ease.
The main perks start with a new one, Stopping Power. This increases damage against opponents with lower health and increases Aim Assistance. This creates a loop where the more damage you cause, the more damage the weapon will do. Round off nicely with Rampage. At its peak, Rampage gains a 33% damage increase. Paired together, will help melt any opponent who dares cross Duty Bound’s sights. This will still have a great effect in its first or second stack of damage.
How to get the Duty Bound
