How good is Boomslang-4FR

Linear Fusion Rifles, in general, aren’t currently the most favoured in the current meta. However, the Adaptive Burst Frame gets 3 shots off per round, meaning Boomslang-4fr can get its most effective perks rolling quickly, and that’s the main pull for this weapon. The perk combination potential is solid and can produce great damage output. The Adaptive Burst Frame has a high potential ceiling, and Boomslang-4fr really shows what it can achieve. 

Perks-wise, there aren’t a lot of left field options. When it comes to the god roll, it’s safe to say Boomdlang-4fr users should aim for that for the best results. One to look for is Envious Arsenal, which is a useful alternative when cycling through weapons to maximise damage, so it does have advantages if it suits the loadout. Boomslang-4fr is A-Tier for PvE and D-tier for PvP.

Boomslang-4fr feels underrated in the current sandbox and can pack a punch when required to take down tough opponents. Rapid Hit adds up to +25 Stability and +60 Reload Speed when at the full 5 stacks. Combine this with Precision Instrument, which, after 6 Precision Shots, reaches an added 25% damage increase. Throw on the Backup Mag mod, and this weapon will hold all 6 shots waiting to be unloaded into the enemy’s critical spot so effectively that after 1 full Magazine, all benefits of these perks are up and running.

Envious Arsenal is a fantastic alternative to Rapid Hit as Special and Kinetic weapons can all contribute solid numbers to a damage phase, and then switching back to Boomslang-4fr ensures a full clip to unload again. Vorpal Weapon is a solid alternative just for ease of use, but with only a 10% damage increase, Precision Instrument is the much more rewarding pick.

In PvP, Linear Fusion Rifles can be deadly in a skilled hand and can be considered a high skill, high-reward weapon in the Crucible. The problem Boomslang-4fr faces is that it just does not carry PvP-focused perks, so it’s really making the best out of what it can.

Heating Up gives further accuracy and Stability bonuses upon kill, which makes the next shots potentially even more lethal at range. Vorpal Weapon, then, is a nice round off as it will do increased damage towards opponents in their super, which could be enough to shut them down and swing the game in your team’s favor.

How to get Boomslang-4FR

Boomslang-4fr is a random drop from completing Solo Ops and Fireteam Ops activities in the Portal. Keep an eye on The Portal for when it becomes a featured weapon for a guaranteed drop, and then a high chance on subsequent drops for meeting the score threshold.
