The K1 Communion Lost Sector is the most annoying Lost Sector in Destiny 2. Every Fallen Vandal drops a web mine on the floor which forces you to crawl forward for a few seconds…
While our Lost Sectors hub features every Legend and Master Lost Sectors in the game, this K1 Logistics guide covers everything you need to know to prepare, including recommended loadouts, enemy shields, and Champions.
K1 Communion Location and Requirements
The K1 Communion Lost Sector is located in Anchor of Light Line, on the Moon.
How to unlock Legend & Master Lost Sectors? You’ll need to complete the normal version of the Lost Sector and reach 1510 Power Level to even see them in the Director.

During Season of Plunder (S18), the best loadout is:
- A Kinetic Sniper
- CALUS Mini-Tool
- Solar 3.0
In K1 Communion, it’s all about your Solar 3.0 build. Synthocepts on Titan, Sunbracers on Warlock, and Young Ahamkara’s Spine on Hunter make this Lost Sector a lot easier. During the Season of Plunder, the loadout we recommend uses any Kinetic Sniper Rifle and Xenophage. We recommend Thoughtless for your Sniper to counter Barrier Champions. Xenophage is going to counter Overload Champions and do huge DPS. Any Solar Primary will fit right in with these. We prefer CALUS Mini-Tool with Incandescent.
Using our recommended Solar 3.0 build options gives you a lot of ability spam and healing. The Grenade and Melee abilities you’ll constantly be throwing out will clear adds faster than any weapon. The immense power you’ll feel can be intoxicating.
Xenophage will kill Barrier Champions before they summon their shields. It’ll also stagger, stun, and then kill Overload Champions faster than anything in Destiny. Make sure you have Machine Gun ammo mods all over your armor and Xenophage will never run out.
Make sure to equip these mods for easy runs:
|Font of Might||Universal||Any||4||Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants a temporary bonus to weapon damage of that same elemental type.||Elemental Well||Any|
|Harmonic Siphon||Helmet||Any||1||Rapid weapon final blows with damage matching your subclass type create an Orb of Power.||Charged with Light||Any||Season 16|
|Machine Gun Scavenger||Legs||Any||5||Machine Guns get bonus reserves when you pick up ammo.||Weapon Type||Any|
|Machine Gun Ammo Finder||Helmet||Any||3||Increases your chance of finding Heavy ammo while you have a Machine Gun equipped.||Weapon Type||Any|
|Exotic armor (if solo)||Rare||Common|
Needless to say, these aren’t easy, and the least you should do is ensure you have a reasonable Power Level. By reasonable, we mean no less than 10 Power Levels below the recommended levels. If you find yourself struggling, work on increasing your Power Level as much as possible and focus on Legend Lost Sectors.
K1 Communion guide
In K1 Communion, you’ll find a mix of Barrier Servitors and Overload Captains. Solar Burn is active, which increases the incoming Solar damage you receive and buffs the Solar damage you deal. To help you with that, Thermoshock Plating or Solar Damage Resistance on your Chest armor will reduce the incoming damage you receive. This makes a huge difference if you’re dying quickly to Solar damage.
For the Barrier Servitors you’ll run into, all you need to do is pull out Xenophage, hold the trigger, and it’ll die quicker than you expect. After 2 – 3 shots, swap to your Sniper Rifle just in case. It’s better to be prepared to break the Barrier Champion’s shield when you didn’t need to instead of letting it heal itself.
When you run into an Overload Champion, stun it and finish it with Xenophage. The first shot will stagger it so it won’t teleport for a moment. This stagger makes landing more shots to finish the Champion easy.
You’ll find two areas that can be difficult in K1 Communion. The second room of the Lost Sector and the final boss room.
The Second Room
In the second room of K1 Communion, enemies spawn from every corner. If you kill enemies too slowly here, you can get pinned down with enemy fire coming from every direction.
Here’s where your Solar 3.0 build truly goes to work. Enemies will spawn in each corner of the room, making them easy kills for Solar Grenades. If your abilities end up on cooldown, CALUS Mini-Tool slays in close quarters, and Xenophage deletes every Servitor in seconds.
Final Boss Room
In the final boss room, make sure to pick up the Orbs of Power and Solar Wells that drop. The Solar Wells will buff Xenophage’s damage because of the Font of Might armor mod. The Orbs of Power will make sure your super is ready to crush the boss.
Once the boss spawns, use your super. Then you can start spamming the Light and Heavy attack combo you used on the Champions. Every Class can kill the final boss within a few seconds using this DPS method.
Pro Tip: Kill the final boss fast enough, and you can open the chest before a Barrier Servitor spawns. This still gives you Platinum rank for max Exotic drop chances. Too slow, and you’ll have to kill the Barrier Servitor before opening the chest.
Lost Sector Rewards
As a reminder, completing Legend or Master Lost Sectors solo is the only way to acquire several specific Exotic armor pieces. While our Lost Sector Exotics guide covers them all, including their rotation for the remainder of the season, these are all Lost Sector Exotics available today:

|Exotic Perk: "You gain additional Super energy from Orbs of Power you pick up. While your Super energy is full, picking up an Orb of Power overcharges your Super, causing you to gain a burst of healing when cast and a bonus to your Super damage. K1 Communion Summary
If this guide had too much information and you can only remember one sentence, these are the highlights:
Featuring a Solar burn modifier, The K1 Communion Lost Sector features Solar-shielded enemies and Unstoppable and Barrier Champions. Due to its length and difficulty to complete, this is one of the worst Lost Sectors to farm.
Hopefully, you now have everything you need to know how to best clear this Lost Sector to farm exactly the type of Exotic armor you need.
