The K1 Communion Lost Sector is the most annoying Lost Sector in Destiny 2. Every Fallen Vandal drops a web mine on the floor which forces you to crawl forward for a few seconds…
While our Lost Sectors hub features every Legend and Master Lost Sectors in the game, this K1 Communion guide covers everything you need to know to prepare, including recommended loadouts, enemy shields, and Champions.

This season, the best loadout is:
- Prolonged Engagement
- Explosive Personality
- The Lament
- Solar 3.0
In K1 Communion, it’s all about your Solar 3.0 build. Synthocepts on Titan, Sunbracers on Warlock, and Young Ahamkara’s Spine on Hunter make this Lost Sector a lot easier. The loadout we recommend uses any Kinetic SMG and The Lament. We recommend Prolonged Engagement to counter Overload Champions. The Lament will serve to counter Barrier Champions and do huge DPS. Any Solar Special ammo Grenade launcher will fit right in with these. We prefer Explosive Personality.
Using our recommended Solar 3.0 build options gives you a lot of ability spam and healing. The Grenade and Melee abilities you’ll constantly be throwing out will clear adds faster than any weapon. The immense power you’ll feel can be intoxicating.
Essential Mods
Make sure to equip these mods for easy runs:
Art | Mod Name | Slot | Cost | Requirements | Effects | Type |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Harmonic Siphon | Helmet | 1 | Rank 6 | Rapid final blows with weapons matching your Subclass create an Orb of Power. | General |
Requirements
Difficulty | Legend | Master |
Recommended Power | 1580 | 1610 |
Exotic armor (if solo) | Rare | Common |
Needless to say, these aren’t easy, and the least you should do is ensure you have a reasonable Power Level. By reasonable, we mean no less than 10 Power Levels below the recommended levels. If you find yourself struggling, work on increasing your Power Level as much as possible and focus on Legend Lost Sectors.
K1 Communion guide
In K1 Communion, you’ll find a mix of Barrier Servitors and Overload Captains. Solar Burn is active, which increases the incoming Solar damage you receive and buffs the Solar damage you deal. To help you with that, high Resilience and Solar Damage Resistance on your Chest armor will reduce the incoming damage you receive. This makes a huge difference if you’re dying quickly from Solar damage.
Champions
For the Barrier Servitors you’ll run into, all you need to do is pull out The Lament as soon as their shields come up. When you run into an Overload Champion, stun it with your SMG and finish it with either Explosive Personality or The Lament.
You’ll find two areas that can be difficult in K1 Communion. The second room of the Lost Sector and the final boss room.
The Second Room
In the second room of K1 Communion, enemies spawn from every corner. If you kill enemies too slowly here, you can get pinned down with enemy fire coming from every direction. Here’s where your Solar 3.0 build truly goes to work. Enemies will spawn in each corner of the room, making them easy kills for Solar Grenades. If your abilities end up on cooldown, Explosive Personality slays in close quarters, and The Lament can delete a Servitor in seconds.
Final Boss Room
In the final boss room, make sure to pick up the Orbs of Power and Solar Wells that drop. The Solar Wells will buff your weapon’s damage because of the Font of Might armor mod. The Orbs of Power will make sure your super is ready to crush the boss.
Once the boss spawns, use your Super. Then you can start spamming the Light and Heavy attack combo you used on the Champions. Every Class can kill the final boss within a few seconds using this DPS method.
Pro Tip: Kill the final boss fast enough, and you can open the chest before a Barrier Servitor spawns. This still gives you a Platinum rank for max Exotic drop chances. Too slow, and you’ll have to kill the Barrier Servitor before opening the chest.
Lost Sector Rewards
As a reminder, completing Legend or Master Lost Sectors solo is the only way to acquire several specific Exotic armor pieces. While our Lost Sector Exotics guide covers them all, including their rotation for the remainder of the season, these are all Lost Sector Exotics available today:

K1 Communion Summary
If this guide had too much information and you can only remember one sentence, these are the highlights:
Featuring a Solar burn modifier, The K1 Communion Lost Sector features Solar-shielded enemies and Unstoppable and Barrier Champions. Due to its length and difficulty to complete, this is one of the worst Lost Sectors to farm.
Before you go…
Hopefully, you now have everything you need to know how to farm this Lost Sector. But if you find yourself struggling, take your game to the next level with a top-tier build or one of the best weapons in the game.
