How good is Voltaic Shade
Rapid-fire scout rifles, which Voltaic Shade is based on, aren’t in a terribly great place, but that’s more due to other options being far better and not because the archetype is bad. They still provide a solid damage profile while allowing you to keep distance, and given what can roll on Voltaic, it’s safe to say that it will be a hot contender against the likes of Aisha’s Embrace and Unworthy. Voltaic Shade is A-Tier for PvE and A-Tier for PvP.

Voltaic Shade Perks and God Rolls
The Voltaic Shade strand grenade launcher can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Cooling Baubles, Delicate Tuning, Jolting Feedback, Trickle Charge, Rapid Hit, Shoot to Loot, Keep Away.
- Perk 2: Thermal Atomization, Voltshot, Rolling Storm, Frenzy, Precision Instrument, Desperate Measures, Meganeura.
- Origin Trait: Imperial Allegiance.
Voltaic Shade PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
| Magazine | Overclocked Heatsink |
| Perk 1 | Jolting Feedback or Trickle Charge |
| Perk 2 | Meganuera or Voltshot (also good: Desperate Measures) |
| Masterwork | Cooling Efficiency |
Nothing too different than what you’d expect for our barrel and battery options: Fluted Barrel and Overclocked Heatsink. Overclocked provides a small bump to your outgoing damage, and Fluted Barrel’s handling boost helps one of the lowest stats present.
What’s likely going to interest most folks here is that Jolting Feedback is in the Perk 1 list, which is a rare sight to see. This allows it to be paired with any damage or AoE perk from the Perk 2 list, which is just what we’ve decided for our god roll. Perk 1 will be either Jolting Feedback or Trickle Charge, and Perk 2 will be Meganuera or Voltshot, with Desperate Measures getting a shout-out due to the ability-spam meta we are in at this time.
Voltaic Shade PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Arrowhead Break |
| Magazine | Tactical Heatsink |
| Perk 1 | Delicate Tuning or Keep Away |
| Perk 2 | Precision Instrument or Frenzy |
| Masterwork | Range |
Stat for stat, this is almost identical to Aisha’s Embrace, and actually outperforms it in a lot of areas, though not by a wild amount. Due to that, we’ll borrow its PvP god roll for our own, which means Arrowhead Break for the barrel, and Tactical Heatsink for the battery. Arrowhead is going to help keep your recoil in line, and Tactical Heatsink gives some nice stat boosts all around.
Perk 1 has two excellent range boosters in Delicate Tuning or Keep Away; the only deciding factor is how you plan on playing. Do you prefer a more frontline approach? Then Delicate Tuning will be perfect. Want to plink away from the backline? Keep Away it is! As for Perk 2, Precision Instrument or Frenzy will arguably be your best choices. Both help lower the TTK, so much like your Perk 1 choice, it’s really based on our intentions and preference as to what you rock.
