Released with the Ash & Iron Update, Submersion is a Stasis Crossbow that can be farmed by participating in the Call to Arms event. Although it may not have the raw damage of Opaque, the inclusion of Chill Clip makes it both unique and powerful. How good is Submersion

While crossbows are very new to the game, the first one, Opaque Hourglass, did not disappoint. Rolling with both solid damage-dealing and general use combos, it has a lot going for it. So it’s a slight disappointment not to see the same for Submersion, though the inclusion of Chill Clip is what sets it apart. Two bolts to freeze, which is nice as you have theoretically infinite ammo, but if you have Serrated Bolts and yank the bolt from a frozen target, it shatters!

It also has a very unique origin trait, Contending Cascade. The more rapid final blows you get from any source, the faster you reload the weapon, with high stacks granting elemental explosions on final blows. In other words, it adds a Dragonfly explosion just for slaying out fast, perfect if you want to mainline it. Submersion is A-Tier for PvE and B-Tier for PvP.

Submersion Perks and God Rolls

The Submersion Stasis crossbow can roll with the following perks:

• Perk 1: Auto-Loading Holster, Impulse Amplifier, Bolt Scavenger, Ensemble, No Distractions, Lead from Light.
• Perk 2: High Ground, Chill Clip, Aggregate Charge, Firing Line, Headstone, Collective Action.
• Origin Trait: Contending Cascade.

Submersion PvE god rolls

With a good base velocity and very low base persistence, its clear Empowered Rail is our best choice out of the bunch. Higher persistence means you have more time to collect your bolts, which is a boon if you are being overwhelmed. Your bolt choice comes down to whether you are going for the freeze + pull combo, or want to have it as a DPS weapon that can lay down some DoT.

For Perk 1, Bolt Scavenger or Ensemble are your best choices. Bolt Scavenger helps when running Chill Clip, allowing much faster re-procs of the perk, and Ensemble helps during DPS phases by shortening your reload. Perk 2 will either be Chill Clip for the very high uptime or Firing Line/Aggregate Charge if you want to lean more into a DPS roll.

Submersion PvP god rolls

While Submersion is an infinite* ammo Heavy weapon, you want to ensure each shot lands like any other, so Mag-Lev Rail alongside a velocity Masterwork almost guarantees a hit. Tack on Explosive Bolts to potentially clean up low-health Guardians near the main target.

Impulse Amplifier and No Distractions are arguably your best Perk 1 picks. Impulse Amplifier will make those bolts soar at breakneck speed, and No Distractions helps if you start to come under fire while lining up a shot. Perk 2 will either be High Ground for the easy activation condition, or Chill Clip simply because it will always be up and can lead to rather comical scenarios.

How to get Submersion

Submersion is only available during limited-time events such as Arms Week or, in this case, Call to Arms. You can farm this weapon by completing Call to Arms activities and/or attuning to one of these weapons at Devrim Kay in the Tower.
