Released with the Ash & Iron Update, Shoreline Dissident is a
Void Rapid-Fire Sniper Rifle that can be farmed by participating in the Call to Arms event. Shoreline Dissident isn’t anything special, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it is bad. This guide covers its place in the current Meta, top rolls for PvE and PvP, and how to farm it.

How good is Shoreline Dissident
Shoreline Dissident is a rapid-fire Sniper Rifle, the strongest Sniper archetype at the moment in PvE, which earns it some points. In PvP, Rapid-Fire Snipers aren’t the greatest, with many preferring Aggressives or Adaptives instead, as the body-shot consistency is simply higher.
Shoreline doesn’t come with many great perks for PvE. Triple Tap is generally a decent pick, and Precision Instrument also isn’t too bad, but compared to the top options like Praedyth’s Revenge or Lance Ephemeral, it doesn’t hold a candle. While it does have some utility options, they don’t mean much in the grand scheme of things in terms of quality. In PvP, it has the combo of Lone Wolf and Closing Time, which isn’t too bad, but it’s a Rapid-Fire Sniper, so it’s not ideal regardless of perks. Shoreline Dissident is B-Tier for PvE and B-Tier for PvP.

Shoreline Dissident PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
| Magazine | Flared Magwell |
| Perk 1 | Triple Tap (also good: Explosive Payload) |
| Perk 2 | Precision Instrument (also good: Destabilizing Rounds) |
| Masterwork | Handling |
| Origin Trait | Bray Legacy |
For our Barrel and Magazine, we are opting for quality of life perks like Fluted Barrel and Flared Magwell to boost our Handling and Reload Speed.
In the first perk slot, we are going for Triple Tap. It is simply the strongest option universally on Shoreline Dissident, however, Explosive Payload is unique and interesting. For the second perk, Precision Instrument again is just the most consistent option across most of the game. Destabilizing Rounds is a cool option, though.
Shoreline Dissident PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
| Magazine | Steady Rounds |
| Perk 1 | Lone Wolf |
| Perk 2 | Closing Time |
| Masterwork | Stability or Handling |
| Origin Trait | Bray Legacy |
For PvP, Handling and Stability are generally the best stats on Snipers, so Fluted Barrel and Steady Rounds are ideal. On top of this, we can go for a Stability or Handling masterwork depending on whether you want your Sniper to be more fluid, or steadier under fire.
For perk 1, Lone Wolf is the clear winner. No other option in perk slot one is viable, and Lone Wolf grants some passive aim assist and airborne effectiveness. In perk slot 2, it’s a similar story to perk 1. Closing Time is the only truly viable perk available. You could make an argument for High Ground, but that’s a bit more of a gimmick than anything (although you could have fun with it).
How to get Shoreline Dissident
Shoreline Dissident can come from practically anything Edge of Fate-related. I personally have had too many of them to count. The Portal activities will serve as your hub for obtaining Shoreline Dissident, and Solo Ops are likely the fastest way to farm it. We cover all Portal Ops weapons here.
