How good is Joxer’s Longsword
While Joxer’s Longsword is by no means meta-defining, it contains a variety of perks that allow it to shine when in the right scenario.
Especially with Destabilizing Rounds’ recent buff, utilizing Joxer’s Longsword in a Void build is a great idea for PvE. The obvious perk combination of Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds is great for this use (effectively becoming a budget Graviton Lance), but opting for any of the weapon’s damage or utility-focused perks isn’t a bad idea either.
Joxer’s Longsword also finds itself around the same potency in The Crucible. While the weapon has a plethora of potent PvP perks in its final column, the first perk column is relatively lacking. Even so, Joxer’s Longsword is a great option for those who don’t want to step into a raid or Trials of Osiris for better options. Joxer’s Longsword is S-Tier for PvE and A-tier for PvP.

Joxer’s Longsword PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel (also good: Arrowhead Brake) |
| Magazine | Flared Magwell |
| Perk 1 | Repulsor Brace (also good: Dragonfly) |
| Perk 2 | Destabilizing Rounds (also good: Demoralize) |
| Masterwork | Handling or Reload Speed |
Handling is among the most beneficial stats for PvE, which is why we’ll opt for Fluted Barrel, TFlared Magwell, and a Handling masterwork. That said, your barrel can be swapped for Arrowhead Brake for better recoil direction and your masterwork can be traded for reload speed, if desired.
For our two main perks, going with Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds is hard to argue against. While this combo was previously barely above average, the recent buff to Destabilizing Rounds allows Joxer’s Longsword to be a slightly less potent version of both Graviton Lance and Collective Obligation.
Joxer’s Longsword PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
| Magazine | Steady Rounds |
| Perk 1 | Lone Wolf (also good: Zen Moment) |
| Perk 2 | Headseeker |
| Masterwork | Range |
We’ll start our PvP roll out with Arrowhead Brake, Steady Rounds, and a range masterwork to add a bit more consistency through the weapon’s base stats.
Lone Wolf is the best option for column one, offering some extra aim assistance even when not fully active. As for our second perk, Headseeker is a great choice that you can feel working, and it doesn’t require a niche activation requirement.
