How good is Cold Denial
Cold Denial is a hard-hitting Pulse Rifle that has a good set of perks for fans of the weapon’s previous form and strong perks to look forward to on this refreshed version. There are some better options of the same frame in the current sandbox but Cold Denial does well to hold its own.

Cold Denial PvE god rolls
PvE Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
Perk 1 | Enlightened Action (also good: Surplus) |
Perk 2 | Multikill Clip (also good: Swashbuckler) |
Masterwork | Reload |
Arrowhead Break starts the roll with an essential increase to Recoil Direction to make each burst easy to handle. Ricochet Rounds is always a top-tier choice on a Pulse Rifle as its increase in stats makes Cold Denial feel smooth in battle.
For the main perks, the synergy between Enlightened Action and Multikill Clip is too good to ignore. At max stacks and the added Reload Masterwork, Cold Denial runs at 100 Reload Speed ensruring your damage perk is up and running quickly. Run this effectively and the damage boost can reach 50% which will be highly effective at melting the health bars of your enemies.
Cold Denial PvP god rolls
PvP Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Magazine | High-Caliber Rounds |
Perk 1 | Zen Moment |
Perk 2 | Headseeker (also good: Desperado) |
Masterwork | Range |
Pulse Rifles remain strong in PvP and there’s a lot to like about the combination Cold Denial can bring.
Controlling Recoil is a major factor here to keep shots on target while hunting down enemy teams, so Arrowhead Brake is always a top choice to start with. Add in High-Caliber Rounds, which adds more flinch to shots landed on the enemy, giving Cold Denial the edge over the opponent when dueling.
A solid combination for this type of Pulse Rifle rounds off this god roll, starting with Zen Moment. This perk rewards an accurate hand and also helps control the flinch from incoming damage. Hitting shots ensures the next burst is even more steady and easy to control, and with the increasing flinch control, it can be a major difference maker across the arena. Finish off with Headseeker, which is near perfect for any Pulse Rifle. Due to the burst fire nature of the weapon type, any body shot increases precision damage and increases Aim Assist, so when hitting the right spot on the enemy, those benefits will come into play with almost every shot.
Desperado is absolutely a worthy mention over Headseeker for more aggressive playstyles. Headseeker is just winning out here for its benefits in a 1v1 scenario.
