New Whisper of the Worm Ship: Karve of the Worm

by | Apr 10, 2024

After what has felt like Seasons of begging Bungie for its return, The Whisper mission has returned to Destiny 2. Of course, the star of the show is the Whisper of the Worm exotic (and its crafted variant), but the mission has some other new secrets in store, too.

Today, we’ll be talking about one of those secrets that happens to lead to the new Karve of the Worm exotic ship.

One Thousand Wings vs. Karve of the Worm

Guardians who have been around since before Beyond Light may remember that the original version of The Whisper also had a unique ship attached to it: the iconic One Thousand Wings.

One Thousand Winds is currently unobtainable, however. Even if you’re new to the game, you may have seen a ship that looks covered in Taken effects, wondering, “How do I obtain that?”

Despite their many similarities, One Thousand Wings and Karve of the Worm are distinct. The former has solely Taken-like VFX on it, while Karve of the Worm incorporates Vex themes as well. Additionally, One Thousand Wings has a lore tab attached to it that is missing on Karve of the Worm. Below are pictures of both ships for reference.

How to get Karve of the Worm

While A Thousand Wings is now unobtainable, Karve of the Worm is here to replace it for anyone craving the ship’s iconic look. To obtain Karve, you’ll need to complete the “Oracular Seeker” triumph that’s associated with The Whisper exotic mission. Doing so requires you to shoot all seven oracles hidden within the mission’s areas.

If you’re looking for an article covering all of the oracle’s hiding places, we have an article covering that as well. We cover all Whisper Oracle Locations here.
