The new Exotic Praxic Blade is the most customizable weapon we have ever seen in Destiny 2. You can change the blade’s colour; there are different cores that you can obtain, as well as Focuses and Forms that you can obtain by upgrading the vendor reputation around the Lawless Frontier. In this guide, we cover how to get all colors.
How to get all Praxic Blade Colors
Green & Blue Crystals
The first two crystals you’ll unlock for the Praxic Blade are the Green and Blue crystals. On finishing the Fire & Ice mission for the first time, your Praxic Blade will drop with either the Green or Blue crystal fitted into it; you’ll acquire the one you’re missing while completing the Praxic Path exotic mission, after you run the Fire & Ice mission for the second time.
How to get the Taken Crystal
The Taken Crystal is obtained through the ‘Equilibrium’ dungeon. Like the rest of the crystals, this drop is entirely RNG, and has a chance to drop after completing a full run of all three Equilibrium encounters. You cannot farm just one encounter for it- you have to complete all three encounters for a chance at dropping it. However, the encounters do not have to be in order, and it does not have to be a ‘full run’ (without going to orbit). The crystal is freely farmable from the dungeon, and isn’t tied to the usual ‘once-per-character-per-week’ lockout with dungeon exotic drops. If you want this crystal, the best method is to grab your fireteam (or, head in solo) and keep running until you get it.
How to get the Red Crystal
The Red Crystal is acquired through Invader runs of the Lawless Frontiers. The drop is entirely RNG; there is no exact method or probability on when the crystal will drop. The invasion does not have to be successful, and wagering more Deathmarks does not seem to improve the drop rate whatsoever. The best strategy for farming for this crystal is to wager just one deathmark, and just keep invading until you get lucky.
Orange, Indigo & Magenta Crystals
The Orange, Indigo, and Magenta Crystals are all acquired in very similar ways. You can drop these by completing runs of Lawless Frontiers, and will be alongside the rest of your loot at the end of the mission. Each color is tied to a specific planet: Completions on Mars have a chance of dropping the Orange crystal, completions on Europa can drop the Indigo Crystal, and completions on Venus can drop the Magenta crystal. This drop is also entirely RNG- the easiest way to obtain any of these crystals is to simply keep completing Lawless Frontiers on the planet of your choice.
Cyan Crystal
The Cyan Crystal is tied to the Faction Contracts that you complete through running Lawless Frontier. Specifically, you need to complete Exotic Contracts- these are unlocked by hitting Level 3 with any of the three factions, and are listed as ‘high-level Contracts’. You’ll want to ally with the faction you’re at the highest level with, and then focus on completing all three of the Faction Contracts available (not including the daily contract, or the Invasion contract). Ideally, you’ll want to complete all three of your Contracts in a single Lawless Frontier run, as this gives you the best chance of rolling an Exotic contract- but if you can’t do them all, do as many as you can. Each Exotic Contract has a chance of dropping the Cyan Crystal on completion.
Initially, there was a bug with the Cyan Crystal on the launch of Renegades, in which the drop rate was far lower than intended. However as of December 16th 2025, Bungie implemented a fix to improve the rate to be on-par with the other Crystals available, so if you were struggling with acquiring this crystal in the past, it’s worth giving it another shot.
Yellow Crystal
The Yellow Crystal is obtained through completing Active Orders, found in the Seasonal Hub on the Portal menu. You’re looking for an Exotic Order, which has a small chance to appear after completing a Legendary order. The specific order you’re looking for is named ‘Praxic Professional’, yet if you have another Exotic order, you can reroll using Glimmer until you get the correct order.
To complete the ‘Praxic Professional’ quest, you’ll need to defeat combatants using Praxic Blade in Pinnacle Ops without dying. One of the easiest ways to complete this is to launch into ‘The Whisper’ exotic mission, and progress forward until you hit the grassy room. Instead of continuing onward, instead drop down under the floor into the thrall pit. Here, infinite Shadow Thralls will spawn, which you can farm with your Praxic Blade until the Order is completed. Remember to head back to the Active Orders page once completed, as you’ll need to manually claim your reward.
White, Gradient & Purple Crystals
The White, Gradient & Purple Crystals are all Eververse-only Crystals. They cost 1000 Silver each, and can be found in their respective Packages, alongside a matching Praxic Blade ornament. There is a chance these Crystals will make their way to the Bright Dust Store in the future, but for now this is the only way to obtain these three crystals.
