How to Get One Thousand Voices + Catalyst

by | Jul 6, 2026

One Thousand Voices is one of the most sought-after Exotics in Destiny after its recent buff in Monument of Triumph, becoming a key gun in the so-called ‘Forever Meta’ for its insane DPS. With this, obtaining the weapon is more difficult than a lot of the exotics in the game.

In this guide, we’ll cover how to get your hands on One Thousand Voices and its catalyst. We’ll also look at why you should definitely get your hands on it, and go over some of the ways you can utilize it in your own builds.

How to Unlock One Thousand Voices

One Thousand Voices is an Exotic weapon that requires one of the most difficult feats in the game to unlock: completing the Last Wish raid. With this, you aren’t guaranteed the weapon upon completion; instead, you’ll need to farm the raid until One Thousand Voices drops randomly.

However, you don’t just get it for killing the final boss — Riven. Instead, when killing Riven, you’ll obtain a Key that you’ll need to take to the chest room after the true final encounter of Last Wish, Queenswalk, in which you’ll be able to open chests to obtain the weapon. You can carry five of these keys at once (and store five in your postmaster), so you can easily farm Riven without having to do Queenswalk over and over.

Obtaining One Thousand Voices’ Catalyst

One Thousand Voices’ catalyst was added in the Monument of Triumph update, and is obtainable by either randomly dropping it from a chest at the end of Last Wish (like the weapon itself), or randomly dropping it after Pantheon 2.0’s Morgeth encounter.

Morgeth is incredibly easy to farm and was especially easy to complete during the ‘Boopening’, so there’s a good chance that if you were farming Morgeth before, you’ve already got this catalyst. This is by far the better way to farm the Catalyst, as you can farm it repeatedly without also having to do Queenswalk to obtain it.

Is One Thousand Voices Good?

One Thousand Voices is a solar exotic Fusion Rifle that provides excellent DPS in any scenario, especially with the catalyst. It has the following perks:

  • Ahamkara’s Eye: Charging this weapon unleashes a giant continuous beam of death.
  • Unforeseen Repercussions: This weapon’s beam superheats its targets upon impact, causing delayed scorching explosions.

The Catalyst adds more damage and explosions by making the weapon ‘partially Taken’ and releasing Blights:

  • Fall from Grace: The weapon has become partially Taken. Detonations produce Taken energy that aggressively seeks out nearby targets and Blights them.

With this, the DPS that the catalyst adds is definitely noticeable. In testing, a catalyst-less One Thousand Voices (fully dumped, with surges and Particle Reconstruction, with under 100 Weapon stat) did 24-26k average total damage, whereas with the catalyst it did 34-36k on average. That’s a huge increase in damage, and definitely worth picking up the catalyst for.

Comparatively, in the same environment Leviathan’s Breath (with catalyst, Argent Quiver, and surges) and Truth (with Argent Ordnance, and surges) did around 24k damage (with zero thought towards buildcrafting, this would be very different with Mobius Quiver, for example). So, for easy DPS this seems very solid and definitely feels like something that you should have in your back pocket.

This is the damage floor, utilizing easily accessible options (surges and artifact mods), though other, more optimized strategies push the DPS much higher than seen here. Definitely an eye-opening amount of damage for a singular weapon. Even adding Well of Radiance to my build alone pushes the same damage scenario up to 50k, which is tantalizing considering how quickly you can dump this weapon.

However, there’s a huge caveat here. With more people utilizing One Thousand Voices within your fireteam, it becomes less effective. And so, it could be important to make sure that you’re the sole user of this build; while this isn’t massively important for some activities, for others it could be the difference between clearing and not clearing.

Also, in PvP it’s another heavy weapon, but it takes forever to fire while other weapons also have a similar damage profile with much less time to fire. So, a non-starter, to be honest. One Thousand Voices is S-tier in PvE and C-tier in PvP.
