About our Tier Ranks

Our Tier Rank takes into account a Pal’s Combat stats, Partner Skill, Work suitabilities, and, for those that can be used as mounts, their Speed. While Combat stats are the main criteria, Pals with exceptionally high Work Suitability levels or fast mount speeds will be ranked higher than Pals with slightly higher stats but mediocre Work suitabilities, for example.

Bes Dragon-Type Palworld: Strengths and Weaknesses

Keep in mind that Elements play a crucial role and will lead to substantial advantages (or disadvantages) depending on the Element of the Pals that are fighting. Make sure you always use the proper Element based on your enemy. In this case:

Dragon Pals are strong against Dark Pals and weak against Ice Pals.

Offensive Defensive
✅ Bonus Damage Vs. Dragon ✅  High Resistance Vs. Dark
⛔️ Weak Damage Vs. Ice ⛔️ Low Resistance Vs. Ice

The TL;DR

  • Pal attacks are super effective against the types shown. When attacked with the corresponding element, the numbers will be shown in red, similar to a headshot, to indicate super effective damage.
  • Pals are also RESISTANT against the same elements they are super effective against and their own element. Numbers will be shown in grey to indicate not very effective damage.
  • Dual-type pals will follow these same rules for both of their elements. This can cancel out a weakness. For example, a Penking (Ice and Water) will take normal damage from fire attacks, indicated by white numbers.
  • Stab stands for Same Type Attack Bonus. This is a small bonus to attack damage if your Pal shares a type with that attack. A Fire pal will deal more damage with a fire attack than a pal of a different type using the same attack. The community has calculated this bonus to be about 20%.

Using Dragon Pals for Work

Unlike Water, Ice, or Fire Pals, which all have exclusive Work Suitabilities, Dragon Pals feature a variety of Working Suitabilities. Some can lumber, some can gather, others can do handiwork, etc. If you’re interested in Transporting, we cover the Best Transporting Pals here.
