Destiny 2 Wellspring weapon Today: Rotation & Tier list

On top of including an excellent campaign, The Witch Queen expansion also features a new 6-man activity called Wellspring.

And while the activity itself offers good enemy density, daily rotating bosses, and more, most Guardians run it to farm one of the four Wellspring-specific weapons. As all of them are craftable, they remain highly appealing to this day. In this guide, we cover all Wellspring weapons and their daily rotation.

There are 4 Wellspring weapons in total. Each day, only one weapon can be farmed at a time. This means you’ll have to wait for specific days to fam the Wellspring activity if you’re chasing a specific weapon:

Best Wellspring weapons: Tier list ranking

This table ranks the 4 Wellspring weapons available today. It starts with the top Tier weapons and moves down from there. It also covers both PvE and PvP, with the “Excels in” column clearly identifying where each weapon shines:

These are the different Tier levels used for this ranking:

S Tier – Best: Highest ranking weapon types.
A Tier – Strong: Very strong weapon types, but not on the same level as S Tier Choices.
B Tier – Average: Decent choices that can be lethal in the hands of a skilled player.
C Tier – Weak: The middle of the pack, somewhat mediocre.
D Tier – Worst: Lagging behind the competition, these don’t have much to offer.

How to farm Wellspring weapons

Farming Wellspring weapons is as straightforward as it gets: they only drop from The Wellspring activity in the Throne World destination.

Gaining access to the Wellspring activity

To get access to the 6-man Wellspring activity, you’ll need to own The Witch Queen expansion and have completed the campaign. Once you’ve completed the campaign, you’ll need to visit Fynch in the Throne World destination in order to permanently unlock the Wellspring activity.

Wellspring weapons drop rates

The first few weeks of the Witch Queen expansion were difficult for players looking to farm Wellspring weapons. Wellspring weapons with Deepsight resonance were particularly hard to get.

Probably a bug was preventing these weapons from dropping, but luckily Bungie recognize the issue and has already released a patch to improve the situation:

In a patch targeting next week, we will be increasing the drop chances for weapons in Wellspring, and adding bad luck protection for both getting a standard drop and getting a Deepsight resonate version of a weapon. [4/13]
