Season of the Deep introduced us to some great-looking Deep weapons, including a Taken-inspired version of Spare Rations: Targeted Redaction. This 120 RPM Void hand cannon can roll Destabilizing Rounds, making it potentially great for your void builds.

How to get Targeted Redaction this season
With Targeted Redaction being a seasonal weapon, you can get it from the Deep Engrams. Those are rewarded by completing seasonal activities, challenges, and progressing the Season Pass.
The loot pool for Deep Engrams is quite big; therefore, we recommend you focus your Engrams instead. You can focus your Deep Engrams at the Sonar Station vendor at the H.E.L.M. once you have Deep Weapon Focusing unlocked.
Targeted Redaction focusing, Destiny 2
Deep Weapon Focusing can be unlocked through a seasonal challenge. To complete it, you need to obtain six different seasonal weapons.
The cost of focusing is now also cheaper compared to previous seasons. You will need the following resources:
- 2 Deep Engram (4 for a specific weapon)
- 3,000 Glimmer
How good is Targeted Redaction
Targeted Redaction can roll with one of the best Void perks available: Destabilizing Rounds. And as far as hand cannons go, this is the only one that can roll with Destabilizing Rounds. If you particularly like Void builds for PvE and are a fan of hand cannons, Targeted Redaction will be a great choice.
The downside of this gun is that it’s a 120 RPM hand cannon. It can deal great damage at a decent range, but if you miss your shots, reloading will take forever. And with not that many perks that could help in that regard, it might feel lacking.
For PvP, there are clearly superior choices, such as Exalted Truth and Igneous Hammer from Trials or Cantata-57 from World Loot Pool.

Best Targeted Redaction Rolls for PvE and PvP
Now that you can easily farm the weapon, here are the best rolls for both PvP and PvE.
Targeted Redaction PvP god roll
- Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
- Magazine: Flared Magwell or Accurized Rounds
- Perk 1: Outlaw
- Perk 2: Explosive Payload
- Masterwork: Range or Handling
This hand cannon is not as reliable in PvP as its alternatives. But you can make it work and still run it in PvP. The barrel is a clear choice: Hammer-Forged Rifling for extra range. For the magazine, it’s best you get something to reduce reload speed, like Flared Magwell.
The perk choices for Targeted Redaction are very limited. Perk 1 must be Outlaw to help you with reload speed. For Perk 2, Explosive Payload will give you that extra bit of damage in the gunfight. You can opt for Harmony if you constantly swap weapons, but that’s a purely personal preference.

- Masterwork: Reload Speed
PvE god rolls for Targeted Redaction are easier to recommend. You’ll want Hammer-Forged Rifling for extra range and Flared Magwell for extra reload. Although you might prefer Accurized Rounds because Outlaw can provide improved Reload speed consistently.
The top perk combination is Outlaw with Detabilizing Rounds. Both will make the gun better at ad-clearing and will help it compete with superior archetypes.
Targeted Redaction: Is it worth farming?
If you enjoy Void hand cannons in PvE, Target Redaction will be a great addition to your collection. After all, it does roll one of the best Void perks.
