Sojourner’s Tale returns for the first time since Season of the Splicer. This Solar Slug Shotgun has been granted some interesting new perk combinations that won’t challenge the current sandbox meta but can be used to have a good amount of fun in Episode: Revenant.

How good is Sojourner’s Tale
Slug Shotguns are in the middle of the current sandbox and while they provide a powerful option, there are better options out there when going from A to B with builds and damage. However, there are some notable combinations here that can be enjoyed by Slug veterans and players looking to try something new.
Best alternatives:

Sojourner’s Tale PvE god rolls
PvE Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Magazine | Appended Mag |
Perk 1 | Heal Clip (also good: Auto-Loading Holster) |
Perk 2 | Incandescent (also good: Precision Instrument) |
Masterwork | Reload |
Sojourner’s Tale can be tuned towards damage or getting stuck into waves of enemies causing big explosions and healing yourself in the process. With the current damage options out there and the Episodes focus on Stasis, the latter provides a great ‘fire and ice’ combination.
Start with Arrowhead Brake to control the wide recoil and help keep shots on target after each blast. Appended Mag then adds extra shots to the Magazine to keep Sojourner’s Tale in the fight for longer before needing to reload.
The god roll combination is tried and tested and is great to have in tougher situations and comes in handy with the close-quarters nature of this Shotgun. Heal Clip provides a solid chunk of health after a kill and reload and Incandescent provides some great utility causing Ignite and Scorch, making light work of lower-tier enemies and doing solid damage to tougher foes.
Sojourner’s Tale PvP god rolls
PvP Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
Perk 1 | Quickdraw (also good: Discord) |
Perk 2 | Opening Shot (also good: Harmony) |
Masterwork | Range |
Sojourner’s Tale has a good selection of PvP perks and can easily tear through an enemy team in an accurate hand.
Arrowhead Brake is best for the barrel to keep shots vertical as it carries a wide recoil pattern at its base. Accurized Rounds boost the Range to keep the reticle sticky and accuracy up when aiming for that headshot at a longer distance.
The main perks start with Quickdraw making Sojourner’s Tale ready with lightning speed when switching to take opponents off guard and quickly turn the tide of battle. Opening Shot is invaluable for its added Range and accuracy bonuses which makes this Shotgun lethal for popping heads in The Crucible and will reward an accurate hand greatly when pushing for victory.
