How to get the Silicon Neuroma in 2022
The Silicon Neuroma first came out with Curse of Osiris (a much panned DLC) back in Year 1 of Destiny 2. Three years later, it returns to us with some solid perks, especially for PvP, as a Nightfall-exclusive reward.
Nightfall Weapon rotation for 2022
There are 14 Nightfall-specific weapons in total, and as of Season of Plunder (S18), only 6 out of the 14 total weapons are currently on rotation, with only one dropping each week. This means you can only farm the Silicon Neuroma sniper once every six weeks!

How good is the Silicon Neuroma today
Being an aggressive frame sniper, Silicon Neuroma has the benefit of a whopping 158 bodyshot damage in PvP, and with Succession being the only other popular Aggressive sniper in the Kinetic slot, it doesn’t have a lot of competition. However, players may prefer Adaptive frame snipers such as Eye of Sol from Trials of Osiris or the Defiance of Yasmin from King’s Fall.
In PvE, however, Silicon Neuroma lacks most of the strong perks that make snipers usable in endgame content, and with Arbalest being such a powerhouse right now, it’s hard to recommend Silicon over many other Kinetic options.
For all these reasons, we put Silicon Neuroma in the B tier. Its undeniable strength in PvP makes up for its lackluster presence in PvE.
- B Tier – Average: A decent choice that can be lethal in the hands of a skilled player.

Best Silicon Neuroma Rolls for PvE and PvP
Once you’ve identified the right week to farm, you’ll want to run as many Nightfalls (and at the higher difficulty possible) as possible to increase your chances of finding a god roll. Among the several strong possible rolls out there, these are our favorites, the combinations we consider god rolls.

A Silicon Neuroma roll, Destiny 2
Silicon Neuroma PvP god roll
For PvP, you want high Handling and High Stability, therefore Fluted Barrel is by far the best choice. For your magazine, you’ll want Ricochet Rounds or Flared Magwell for that bump to stability, and for your perks, you want Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot.
- Barrel: Fluted Barrel or Polygonal Rifling
- Magazine: Ricochet Rounds or Flared Magwell
- Perk 1: Snapshot Sights
- Perk 2: Opening Shot
Silicon Neuroma PvE god roll
For your PvE perks, your barrels don’t matter too much. However, you may still want to opt for Fluted Barrel for that increase in handling and stability. For your magazine, Appended Mag is the way to go as Silicon has a very low magazine size of 3, therefore increasing it as much as possible is a priority. For your perks, you want Triple Tap and either Firing Line or Frenzy. These perks will allow you to deal as much damage as possible and turn this sniper into a decent backup option for DPS.
- Barrel: Fluted Barrel
- Magazine: Appended Mag
- Perk 1: Triple Tap
- Perk 2: Firing Line or Frenzy
Silicon Neuroma Adept
If you’re courageous enough to tackle Nightfalls on Grandmaster difficulty, you could earn an Adept version of the Silicon Neuroma. On top of serving as bragging rights, Adept variants of weapons have more perks per column, give even more stats when Masterworked, and can accept unique Adept mods.
Be aware that Grandmaster Nightfalls are only available during the second half of the season.
