After years of waiting, the community has finally received a legendary bow perfect for Stasis builds: Raconteur. But this bow doesn’t just synergize with Stasis subclasses; it’s also an excellent pick for PvP and general gameplay.

How to get Raconteur in Season 20
Raconteur is a Defiant weapon that can be obtained by completing the Season of Defiance’s main activity, Defiant Battlegrounds. Completing a Playlist version of a battleground, launched via the HELM, also allows you to use Defiant Keys.
Pro tip: Having a Defiant Key will reward you with more seasonal loot, including Defiant weapons and Engrams, when completing Defiant Battlegrounds.
Defiant Engrams can be used to focus Raconteur at the War Table (assuming you have the Defiant Weapon Focusing upgrade). By the way, the cost to focus Defiant engrams has been greatly reduced compared to previous seasons (only requiring 3,000 Glimmer!).
Raconteur is also craftable, meaning the main thing you’re looking for is Deepsight drops.

How good is the Raconteur today’s Meta?
While bows have never fully made it into the meta, they’ve always been a solid pick in all aspects of the game. They deal high damage per shot, feel amazing to fire, and are some of the best picks in high-level PvE content.
Raconteur is no exception; it contains all the perks that make bows extraordinary while bringing something relatively new: a Stasis element.
Overall, Raconteur is an A-Tier weapon. If you’re looking for a bow that’s easy to get and that excels in all areas of Destiny 2, Raconteur is the one for you.

Best Raconteur Rolls for PvE and PvP
Now that you know Raconteur’s potential, we have one thing left to cover: its god rolls for both PvE and PvP.
Raconteur PvP god roll
In PvP, it’s best to reduce draw time and reload speed as much as possible while not losing out on any damage per shot. Because of that, we’ll start with Elastic String and Fiberglass Arrow Shaft. For perks, you’ll want Archer’s Tempo and Successful Warm-Up. These drastically decrease the time it takes to draw an arrow while not reducing impact damage, increasing TTK exponentially.
- Barrel: Elastic String

Raconteur PvE god roll
The first three traits will be kept the same for PvE: Elastic String, Fiberglass Arrow Shaft, and Archer’s Tempo. In the final column, you can go a couple different routes. Headstone is the clear winner for Stasis synergy, while Explosive Head can provide some extra punch in high-level content. Successful Warm-Up is still a great option too, especially for low-difficulty activities.
