How good is Mistral Lift
While Mistral Lift has its fair share of solid perks that place it above most of its competitors, linear fusion rifles as a whole have fallen out of the meta recently. As a result, while Mistral Lift is unlikely to be the next must-have weapon for raiding, it’s an outstanding choice for total damage and certain damage rotations.
In PvE, classic choices like Bait and Switch, Reconstruction, and Envious Assassin are great options for nearly any activity you’re diving into. On the other hand, for The Crucible, there isn’t much here. Linear fusion rifles as a whole typically aren’t go-to options for most players, and Mistral Lift definitely doesn’t break that stereotype. Mistral Lift is S-Tier in PvE and C-Tier in PvP.

Scintillation | Linear Fusion Rifle | Heavy | Strand | Nightfall: The Ordeals | Bait and Switch |

Battery | Enhanced Battery |
Perk 1 | Envious Assassin (also good: Withering Gaze) |
Perk 2 | Bait and Switch |
Masterwork | Handling |
We’ll start with Fluted Barrel, Enhanced Battery, and a handling masterwork to get a solid bump in magazine size and stability. Envious Assassin is almost an automatic pick for the first column, which allows you to pump out insane amounts of total damage without the need to reload. However, Withering Gaze is also worth mentioning in situations like Grandmaster Nightfalls, simply for its utility.
For the final column, Bait and Switch is the easy go-to. A powerful 30% damage increase that’s extremely easy to proc, there’s no going wrong with this perk on a heavy weapon.

Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Battery | Accelerated Coils |
Perk 1 | Keep Away |
Perk 2 | Vorpal Weapon |
Masterwork | Stability |
Mistral Lift clearly isn’t meant to excel in The Crucible, but that doesn’t mean we can’t try to make it a bit better.
We’ll begin with Arrowhead Brake, Accelerated Coils, and a stability masterwork to make this weapon a bit more consistent. From there, Keep Away provides some extra accuracy, while Vorpal Weapon is the most useful damage buff of the bunch for the final column.
How to get Mistral Lift
Mistral Lift is a drop from Destiny 2’s winter holiday event, The Dawning. During this time, you can obtain the weapon by baking cookies for vendors, talking to Eva Levante, and participating in the event as a whole.
However, be aware that there’s no chance to farm it outside of these few couple of weeks, so don’t miss out! We cover all Dawning weapons here.
