Destiny 2 IKELOS SMG v1.0.3: God Rolls and How to get it

by | Mar 4, 2024

Despite the recent nerfs to the IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3, it is still one of the most used legendary weapons in both PvP and PvE. We will tell you how to get your hands on this excellent submachine gun, the best perks for the weapon, and whether it’s worth getting today.

How to get IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3

While IKELOS weapons were previously obtainable through Engrams and Season 19 activities, these days, they can all be farmed by completing the Operation: Seraph’s Shield mission.

Each Exotic Mission, including Operation: Seraph’s Shield, offers several rewards, including the IKELOS SMG. And to make their rewards even more appealing, all weapons are craftable:

  • First completion of the mission on Normal or Legendary difficulty will award the Exotic Deepsight weapon associated with the mission.
  • Each completion of the Normal or Legendary version of the Exotic mission will award an intrinsic upgrade that can be used when crafting the Exotic weapon.
  • Each completion of the Legendary version of the Exotic mission will award a Catalyst upgrade for the crafted Exotic weapon.

How good is IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3

Aggressive Frame SMGs are a go-to archetype in PvP. But IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3 also has a lot of great perks to make it extremely good in PvE.

While The Immortal is dominating PvP, IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3 is still the best legendary energy SMG that you can use. The recent recoil nerf it received made it a bit harder to control, but it’s a matter of time to get used to it. Apart from that, this SMG can roll with several top-tier perks. Plus, you can also take advantage of its origin trait, Rasputin’s Arsenal, which partially reloads your mag and will be useful in prolonged gunfights.

In PvE, there’s much more room for good rolls on the IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3. Voltshot is, by far, the best perk you can get. It synergizes with fragments like Titan’s Spark of Ions and can become a core part of the build. Pair that with Feeding Frenzy, and this SMG becomes an ad-clearing machine. But there are many other options.

A-tier for PvE B-tier for PvP

Best IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3 God Rolls and Perk Pool

The IKELOS SMG can roll with the following perks:

  • Perk 1: Perpetual Motion, Feeding Frenzy, Threat Detector, Killing Wind, Dynamic Sway Reduction, Shot Swap, Shoot to Loot
  • Perk 2: Voltshot, Gutshot Straight, Frenzy, Rangefinder, Surrounded, Tap the Trigger, Pugilist
  • Origin Trait: Rasputin’s Arsenal

IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3 PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk 1: Killing Wind
  • Perk 2: Rangefinder or Tap the Trigger
  • Masterwork: Range

The PvP god rolls for IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3 are all about having a good balance of range and stability to deal with the recent nerfs.

The best all-around barrel is Hammer-Forged Rifling for an increased range. For the magazine, we recommend Accurized Rounds. But you can also opt-in for Seraph Rounds if you want that extra stability.

The perks in the third column can be either Killing Wind or Perpetual Motion. But we prefer Killing Wind as you will often find yourself fighting up close. In the fourth column, Rangefinder is great for avoiding damage fall-off. However, If you want to go for a roll with more stability, we recommend Dynamic Sway Reduction with Tap the Trigger combo. Enhanced (craftable) versions of those perks are especially good.

IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3 PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Seraph Rounds
  • Perk 1: Feeding Frenzy
  • Perk 2: Voltshot
  • Masterwork: Range

The God roll for PvE is much more straightforward. Hammer-Forged Rifling paired with Seraph Rounds is by far the best combo for the barrel and magazine. They will give you a decent range and stability boost.

The best perk combination you want is Feeding Frenzy with Voltshot. This pair is extremely powerful due to its ability to clear out ads very quickly and stun Overload Champions with Jolt. Some alternatives may include Perpetual Motion with Frenzy, but we highly recommend getting that Feeding Frenzy and Voltshot combo.

IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3: Is it worth farming?

This submachine gun is very hard to acquire in Season 20. If you have the pattern unlocked already, stop reading and immediately craft this weapon. It is that good. Otherwise, you will be better off farming for other weapons like The Immortal.

Moreover, Bungie recently revealed that in Season 21, the whole Aggressive Frame SMG family will be receiving a damage nerf. That includes both the IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3 and The Immortal. And since The Immortal won’t be getting individual nerfs, it will quickly become the obvious choice for PvP, at the very least.
