How good is Heretic’s Fervor
Heretic’s Fervor is a Stasis Rocket, which is relatively rare, with the last Stasis Rocket of note being Cold Comfort from Ghosts of the Deep. While this Rocket may not reach its predecessor’s heights, Heretic’s Fervor isn’t a bad option.
The Stasis Rocket Launcher has some solid magazine perks, such as Auto-Loading Holster, Field Prep, Bipod, and Slideshot, but lacks in the damage perk department, with the only viable option being Explosive Light. This means that Cold Comfort will be far superior for boss damage due to the Envious Assassin and Bait and Switch combo. Still, Heretic’s Fervor will be better for almost any other content in the game, thanks to its diverse and forgiving perk pool. This rocket will likely excel in content such as high-level Nightfalls or activities where you do not require much DPS.
In PvP, Rockets are relatively popular; however, most players are likely to stick to their regular Rocket picks like Tomorrow’s Answer, as Heavy Weapons aren’t important so long as you have one that does the job. Heretic’s Fervor does have some interesting options like Quickdraw, though, which may help it just a tad.
Heretic’s Fervor gets an A-tier rating in PvE and a B-tier rating in PvP.

PvE Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Quick Launch |
Magazine | Impact Casing |
Perk 1 | Field Prep (also good: Auto-Loading Holster or Slideshot |
Perk 2 | Explosive Light (also good: Bipod) |
Masterwork | Velocity |
Quick Launch is the standard pick for our barrel as it significantly boosts our velocity and handling, and Impact Casing is our magazine of choice, thanks to the small damage bonus it provides.
In the first perk slot, Field Prep is ideal. Due to where this Rocket will be used (Nightfalls), we want to maximize our reserves so we always have a Rocket to spare. However, Auto-Loading Holster and Slideshot are good perks and can serve as worthy alternatives.
In the second perk slot, Explosive Light is the best pick. Due to the number of Orbs available for creation with modern builds, you will always have an Explosive Light rocket ready to go, which can massively help fight beefier enemies. Despite this, Bipod is still a decent option, thanks to the massive boost to reserves it provides.
Heretic’s Fervor PvP god rolls
PvP Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Quick Launch |
Magazine | High-Velocity Rounds |
Perk 1 | Lone Wolf (also good: Tracking Module) |
Perk 2 | Quickdraw (also good: Explosive Light) |
Masterwork | Velocity |
Having our Barrel and Magazine as Quick Launch and High-Velocity Rounds makes our Velocity incredibly fast. When coupled with a Velocity Masterwork, we can hit 98 Velocity, making it impossible to miss your Rocket.
There isn’t much special for perk slot one, but Lone Wolf does help with Airborne Effectiveness, which is never a downside. Plus, it helps aim down sights quicker, which can be handy if you’re trying to be precise. Tracking Module can work as an alternative, but it is generally quite clunky..
For perk slot two, we recommend Quickdraw as you may not want to burn your heavy ammo immediately and instead swap to it when you see an opportunity, making Quickdraw ideal for a fast swap. Alternatively, Explosive Light is a good option, as it increases Blast Radius and base damage, meaning you can snag multiple kills with one shot a little bit easier.
