Gridskipper makes a welcome return to Destiny 2 after its first run in Season of the Splicer. This weapon always had solid potential but was let down by some its perks and the overall meta at the time. This is part of what makes its return such a big deal because its revamped set of perks makes it a solid god roll to use in both PvE and PvP.

How good is Gridskipper
Gridskipper is in pretty good standing for PvE and PvP, as its new perk set compliments a skilled hand in both types of content. It suits strong Void builds while also packing a solid punch for The Crucible.
Fans of Pulese Rifles or, more importantly, the faster-firing archetypes will love the new coat of paint on Gridskipper.

Gridskipper Perks & God Rolls
The Gridskipper Pulse Rifle can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Killing Wind, Lone Wolf, Repulsor Brace, Zen Moment, Perpetual Motion, Demolitionist.
- Perk 2: Multikill Clip, Frenzy, Destabilizing Rounds, Headseeker, Elemental Capacitor, Desperate Measures.
- Origin Trait: Splicer Surge
Gridskipper PvE god rolls
PvE Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
Perk 1 | Repulsor Brace (also good: Demolitionist) |
Perk 2 | Destabilizing Rounds (also good: Frenzy) |
Masterwork | Reload |
Gridskipper likely won’t compete with anything best in slot just because it doesn’t hit hard enough on those initial bursts. Its perk combinations, however, do make for a solid build and will work very well in lower to mid-tier content.
Start off with Arrowhead Brake to control its wide recoil and then compliment that further by adding Ricochet Rounds, which helps keep the crosshairs central after every burst, which is essential for keeping shots on target with this fast-firing weapon.
The main attraction comes from Repulsor Brace working in tandem with Destabilizing Rounds. Final blows cause surrounding enemies to become Volatile, and defeating those activates Repulsor Brace to grant the user an Overshield. This combination is excellent for many Void-focused builds and can tear through hordes of foes with ease when rolling.
Gridskipper PvP god rolls
PvP Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Magazine | High-Caliber Rounds (also good: Ricochet Rounds) |
Perk 1 | Zen Moment (also good: Perpetual Motion) |
Perk 2 | Headseeker (also good: Elemetal Capacitor) |
Masterwork | Range |
Gridskipper will see the most action in PvP, with some great perks for battling the best opponents in The Crucible.
Due to its high recoil at base, Arrowhead Brake is the best option to keep shots controlled and easy to stay on target when in a gunfight. Throw on High-Caliber Rounds for added Range and the added flinch when landing shots on opponents, which can be a major difference-maker to ensure Gridskipper keeps coming out on top.
For the main perks, the combination of Zen Moment and Headseeker provides great advantages when navigating a duel. Zen Moment reduces incoming Flinch whilst improving Gridskippers bursts with every successful hit. This plays perfectly for Headseeker, which grants bonus damage on headshots after hitting the body with added Aim Assist to add to its sticky feeling when engaged. Gridskipper’s burst fire will constantly move upwards, giving each shot the potential for a damage increase per burst, and this compliments the high RPM of the weapon, making it easier to handle and can produce great results on the battlefield.
