While brand-new weapons are all the rage when it comes to new Destiny 2 releases, Bungie has been on a roll with reissuing fan favorites from past eras.
Today, we’ll cover one of these older weapons that was reintroduced with Revenant: the Chroma Rush auto rifle.

How good is Chroma Rush
In PvE, Chroma Rush is more or less set up for failure. Kinetic weapons, primary ammo weapons, and auto rifles all individually aren’t that popular right now, and Chroma Rush happens to be a part of all three categories.
That said, it still holds up better than much of its competition. While hand cannons and elemental variants are bound to be better, Chroma Rush is a nice alternative for casual content.
As for PvP, Chroma Rush is in a bit of a better position. While it also isn’t a meta pick here, it features some solid perks that make it a great pick for any auto rifle enjoyers. Chroma Rush is B-Tier in PvE and PvP.

Chroma Rush Perks & God Rolls
The Chroma Rush auto rifle can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Subsistence, Dynamic Sway Reduction, Killing Wind, Tunnel Vision, To The Pain, Heating Up.
- Perk 2: Rampage, Target Lock, Kinetic Tremors, Tap the Trigger, Kill Clip, Frenzy.
- Origin Trait: Splicer Surge
Chroma Rush PvE god rolls
PvE Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
Magazine | Flared Magwell |
Perk 1 | Subsistence |
Perk 2 | Frenzy (also good: Kinetic Tremors) |
Masterwork | Stability |
While everything but your main two perks doesn’t really matter here, we’ll still try and seek out Fluted Barrel, Flared Magwell, and a stability masterwork for a nice sweep of increased stats.
For perk one, Subsistence is your best bet due to Chroma Rush’s inherently large magazine size. For the second, Frenzy never fails to be a top-tier pick, while Kinetic Tremors and Rampage can be great as well depending on the situation.
Chroma Rush PvP god rolls
PvP Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Smallbore |
Magazine | Steady Rounds |
Perk 1 | Dynamic Sway Reduction or Killing Wind |
Perk 2 | Kill Clip (also good: Target Lock) |
Masterwork | Stability |
For Chroma Rush’s PvP god roll, we’ll start by building almost entirely into stability with Smallbore, Steady Rounds, and a stability masterwork.
If you need even more stability, Dynamic Sway Reduction is the play for perk one; if not, opt for Killing Wind. For your final perk, Kill Clip decreases the TTK of Chroma Rush by a significant margin, so we’ll go with that to round out our roll.
How to get Chroma Rush
Chroma Rush is one of several returning Splicer weapons released with Episode 2: Revenant set. You can acquire this weapon by:
- Completing Revenant activities, including Onslaught: Salvation
- Utilizing tonics available at the H.E.L.M
- Increasing your Seasonal reputation
Much like previous seasons/episodes, there are vendor upgrades that increase your chances of a roll with double perks, as well as the ability to attune to a specific one. There are also Enriching Tonics that can give you specific rewards for defeating combatants. As of now, there is only one that can drop seasonal gear. We cover all Splicer Weapons here.
