Better Devils, now rocking a Strand affinity, is but one of two Strand Hand Cannons, and the only one to roll with Strand perks. In this guide, we’ll cover all you need to know about this iconic weapon.

How good is Better Devils

In PvE, Adaptive Hand Cannons have become a staple of many a loadout thanks to their ability to take down targets with ease, even on higher difficulty. Better Devils is shaping up to be no different, especially when considering it has the likes of Explosive Payload or Frenzy for free damage boosts.

In PvP, Adaptive Hand Cannons have seen better days. While they boast a fast TTK for hand cannons, their range forces people into positions where they can be outgunned by a lot. And unfortunately, the stats on Better Devils won’t let it stand up to the others. Stat for stat, it’s worse than all other non-exotic Adaptives, with the worst offenders being stability and handling.

Better Devils Perks and God Rolls

The Better Devils hand cannon can roll with the following perks:

• Perk 1: Air Trigger, Demolitionist, Pugilist, Enlightened Action, Slickdraw, Perfect Float, Slice, Perpetual Motion, Moving Target, Rangefinder, Rapid-Hit, Reconstruction.
• Perk 2: Swashbuckler, Adrenaline Junkie, Deconstruct, Elemental Capacitor, Gutshot Straight, Frenzy, Hatchling, Zen Moment, Explosive Payload, Kill Clip, Opening Shot, One for All.
• Origin Trait: One Quiet Moment, Nadir Focus

Better Devils PvE god rolls

Since range isn’t a needed PvE stat, we’re going with Fluted Barrel for some extra stability and handling as it needs all it can get. Throw on Tactical Mag for even more, alongside a slightly larger magazine.

Perk 1 has a lot of options, most of which are padding, but Demolitionist and Pugilist stand out as quality utility perks. Given the strength of our abilities, it’s nice to juice their regen a bit, and both of these will do just that. For Perk 2, Explosive Payload or Frenzy are solid options for their ease of use. In lower end content, Adrenaline Junkie or Swashbuckler would pair nicely with their Perk 1 counterparts.

Better Devils PvP god rolls

As mentioned earlier, PvP is going to be rough on Better Devils. While it has some solid perk options, the fact it has far less stats than any comparable hand cannon is what sets it back. To mitigate this, Hammer-Forged Rifling or Smallbore are your best barrels, depending on if you want more range, or a mix of range and stability. Accurized or Steady Rounds are solid mag options, again, dependent upon what stat is most valuable to you.

For Perk 1, it’s hard to recommend anything outside of Rapid-Hit or Perpetual Motion. Both provide solid stability buffs, so it really comes down to how you play. Perk 2’s a bit more generous with its PvP perks, with Explosive Payload and Elemental Capacitor being hot picks. Explosive Payload can help with longer fights as the explosion has no damage dropoff, and Elemental Capacitor can heavily offset a low stat, such as stability if ran with a Void super.

How to get Better Devils

Better Devils, much like before, is a Crucible exclusive drop. Similar to other playlist weapons, after the first drop, you can focus more at the respective vendor, Shaxx, in this case. On top of that, you can roll extra perks the more prestige you earn with him, and it is enhanceable!
