Grandmaster Nightfalls are perhaps the most challenging endgame activity in Destiny 2. With an insane Power Level requirement and unforgiving modifiers, Grandmaster Nightfalls will challenge all but the top fireteams out there.
This guide will provide you with everything you need to tackle and conquer The Insight Terminus GM, including loadouts, preferred subclasses, tactics, and more.

Loadout and Subclasses
The following guide was heavily inspired by Above‘s and Mac‘s excellent videos covering this Grandmaster.
Subclasses & Exotics
For class loadouts, Hunters want to rock an “Invis” Nightstalker build with Aeon Swift. Warlocks want to spec into Well of Radiance with Phoenix Protocol. And Titans want to run Arc Striker with Heart of Inmost Light.

Loadout
With Barrier and Unstoppable champions, Void shields, and a Void elemental singe, loadouts for this strike are simple, with one player wanting Arbalest, a void energy hand cannon with an Unstoppable mod such as The Palindrome, and either Taipan-4fr or Retrofit Escapade.

As always, these are simply recommendations. if you have something in mind that you feel would work better, feel free to throw it on. With all that being said, let’s get into the strategy.
GM Power Level
If you’re interested in running this GM, you need to have a proper Power Level:
Nightfall Difficulty | Required to enter | Power Level of activities | Adept drop rate |
Grandmaster | 1580 | 1620 | Common+ |

The Insight Terminus GM: A Step-by-step guide
Entrance
Load in and sparrow to the cave, being careful of the patrol enemies. Kill the first two goblins and then advance to kill the void minotaurs, goblins, and two barrier hobgoblins in the front, as well as the 3rd barrier hobgoblin in the back left. Proceed to the next room, killing the legionaries and goblins in the hallway on the way, before arriving at the large open chasm section. In this section, prioritize playing back and holding cover while you kill the legionaries in front of you while being careful of the barrier colossus and psion snipers across the ridge. You can drop the enemies across the chasm after dropping everything close to you, beginning with the psion snipers and barrier colossus. Continue forward to the capture plate and portal, being careful of the crazed goblins coming through the hallway.
Get close to Kargen to make him teleport away, then stand on the capture plate to spawn dogs and gladiators. After killing this wave, you’ll have two unstoppable incendiors to drop before finishing the plate and heading through the portal.
Next room
Proceed to the next zone, where you’ll want to play in the back right, prioritizing the psion snipers, the trash ads as they walk up, and the barrier colossus once you feel comfortable killing him. After clearing all of the ads, shoot Kargen at the back of the room to spawn the next waves. Return to the back right of the map and slowly dispatch all of the ads, prioritizing psion snipers, red bars that reveal themselves, and the barrier colossus and unstoppable incendior whenever you feel comfortable dealing with them.
Pick up the arc core from the unstoppable incendior and then head to the back of the zone to kill the enemies by the deposit section. Drop the core and kill the gladiators and barrier colossus at the back. After killing all adds, pick up the arc core and dunk it in the back, then immediately retreat back to the entrance of the room.
Deal with these ads the same way you dealt with the previous two waves. You will have 2 barrier colossuses and an unstoppable incendior. Once you kill the incendior, the ads at the back near the dunk point will spawn as well as a wave of trash ads that will run at you at the entrance. Kill all of the trash ads and then pick up the core, spawning another barrier colossus in the middle of the room. Kill the barrier colossus in the middle of the room, then the 2 barrier colossuses in the back, then the gladiators, then dunk the second ball.
The door will open, revealing crazed goblins and a minotaur, kill them all, and advance through the caves, being careful of the crazed goblins in the tunnel after the long fall. Work your way down to the boss room.
Boss room
He will start the fight by immediately phasing out of the fight and allowing access to the middle vex plate. Stand on the plate immediately, spawning legionaries and dogs! Kill all of the cabal before they get to you on the plate until you capture it, bringing Kargen out to be damaged. Be very careful with his void knock-up attack that persists on the ground and damage him while staying safe from the ads. Kargen will never come to the back middle of the room, so it’s pretty safe back there. He will phase out and enter the 3 plate capture phase when he is just above half HP. When his bar is near the “N” in “TECHNOCRAT.”

The Insight Terminus boss room
The easiest way to deal with this section is to stop damage just before his lockout point and wiping all the ads in the arena, leaving you with just the boss. Send each player to one plate and then phase him out. It takes about 10 seconds for the ads to spawn after Kargen phases, meaning you get about 50% of the plate capture done uninterrupted.
Once the portals turn blue and enemies spawn, use your heavy, grenades, and supers to fend them off until you complete your captures. This is the absolute easiest and safest way to knock this phase-out, as enemies in the triple plate capture phase spawn infinitely. If you don’t get it done at the beginning of this phase, no worries! Just go plate by plate using your abilities to nuke enemies and work together with your team to capture the plates together as shown in the video!
Once you capture all 3 plates, kargen will return. Return to the back of the room and continue damaging him until he dies.
