Grandmaster Nightfalls are perhaps the most challenging endgame activity in Destiny 2. With an insane Power Level requirement and unforgiving modifiers, Grandmaster Nightfalls will challenge all but the top fireteams out there.
This guide will provide you with everything you need to tackle and conquer The Insight Terminus GM, including loadouts, preferred subclasses, tactics, and more.

Loadout and Subclasses
Updated as of Season of the Seraph (S19).
The following guide was heavily inspired by Above‘s and Mac‘s excellent videos covering this Grandmaster.
Subclasses & Exotics
For class loadouts, Hunters want to rock an “Invis” Nightstalker build with Aeon Swift. Warlocks want to spec into Well of Radiance with Phoenix Protocol. And Titans want to run Arc Striker with Heart of Inmost Light.
Armor | Class | Type | Requirements | Source | Released | Requires | Exotic Perk |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() Phoenix Protocol | Warlock | Chest | Forsaken Pack | Exotic Engrams | Season 4 | ![]() Forsaken Pack | Kills and assists you make while standing in your Well of Radiance return Super energy. |
![]() Aeon Swift | Hunter | Arms | Free-to-Play | Exotic Engrams | Season 2 | ![]() Free-to-Play | Aeon Exotics have an additional mod socket which is used for Aeon Cult mods. |
![]() Heart of Inmost Light | Titan | Chest | Forsaken Pack | Exotic Engrams | Season 4 | ![]() Forsaken Pack | Using an ability (grenade, melee, or Barricade) empowers the other two abilities. Empowered means abilities have faster regen, melees and grenades do more damage, and Barricades have more hit points. |
Loadout
With Barrier and Unstoppable champions, Void shields, and a Void elemental singe, loadouts for this strike are simple, with one player wanting Arbalest, a void energy hand cannon with an Unstoppable mod such as The Palindrome, and either Taipan-4fr or Retrofit Escapade.

As always, these are simply recommendations. if you have something in mind that you feel would work better, feel free to throw it on. With all that being said, let’s get into the strategy.
The Insight Terminus Grandmaster Nightfall

The Insight Terminus GM guide
As the Insight Terminus is a fairly straightforward Nightfall, this guide focuses on the most tricky sections:
First Plate
For the first plate in the strike, you’ll just want to use as many supers as necessary to spawn-kill everything as it walks out the door. Capturing this before the unstoppable begin to walk out makes life a lot easier.
Main room
Here, you’ll be spending the bulk of your time playing in the back right corner of the map. This is still the safest location, just make sure to back up whenever the legionaries throw their wrist grenades.
Boss room
The three-plate capture can get really hairy, considering that ads spawn infinitely in this section. Therefore, we highly recommend damaging the boss down to the O in technocrat, killing every single ad, and then sending each player to a different plate.
Once set up, you can do a little more damage to the boss to phase him out and activate the plates. You’ll have about 15 seconds to capture the plates before a single ad hit even spawns, at which point you can just use supers to keep them at Bay while you finish the rest of the captures.
