As with many things in Destiny 2, the Escalation Protocol armor is about to become unavailable for the foreseeable future, maybe forever.
With the launch of Beyond Light on November 10, 2020, more than half the content of the game will be removed and put into the Destiny Content Vault (DCV). This will affect entire planets, quests, catalysts, armor, and more.
And with the coming of Transmog (the ability to turn any armor piece into an ornament), collecting those armor sets has become a top priority for players.
Among the many armor sets going into the DCV, the Escalation Protocol armor set is clearly among the must-haves.
Today, we’ll cover how to best farm this set and show you how good it looks on all classes.
Unlike Black Armory armor, which is locked behind RNG and weekly bounties, the Escalation Protocol armor set can be farmed as much as you want.
As you already know, the armor set is part of the Escalation Protocol activity on Mars and this is everything you need to know about it.
Escalation Protocol completions
Farming Escalation Protocol armor is as straightforward as it gets. But this hasn’t always been the case. Not so long ago, you had to deal with Decrypted Cache Keys and the like. Nowadays, all you need to do is complete Escalation Protocol activities by defeating the final boss. These are the detailed steps, in case you’ve never played it before:
1. Load into Mars with a Fireteam
Alternatively (if you’re playing solo), you can load and reload into Mars until you find an instance with Guardians already tackling an Escalation Protocol.
2. Activate the incursion site
You simply need to activate one of these things:
3. Locate and disable Hive Shadowrifts
Once you find one, you’ll have to stand on it until the timer is done. Then, you’ll have to shoot the crystals around the Shadowrifts:
4. Kill all Hive bosses
5. Rinse and repeat for all seven waves
6. Kill the final boss
7. Open the chest which will contain one piece of armor
As mentioned before, you can do as many Escalation Protocols as you want, so in theory, you could grind the entire set in one session (provided you have a decent group that can efficiently clear the waves and the final boss.
PS: If you’re looking for high stat armor, you better look somewhere else (such as Iron Banner) as Escalation Protocol usually caps at 55-59 total stats max.
These are the three Escalation Protocol armor sets:
Escalation Protocol armor: Titan Midnight Exigent Armor set
Escalation Protocol armor: Hunter Abhorrent Imperative Armor Set
Escalation Protocol armor: Warlock Yuga Sundown Armor Set
I think we can all agree they look great. They’re currently held down because of generally poor stats, but once Transmog is introduced in a few months, I guarantee you’ll see more and more of these in the wild.
Hopefully, you now know everything there is know about Escalation Protocol armor. If you’re an armor collector: good luck and good farming!
