by | Nov 4, 2022

Cuirass of The Falling Star is a staple of the Titan’s loadout. This chest piece should never leave your inventory if you’re looking to do any PvE content. In fact, when used as part of a strong build, it becomes one of the best Titan Exotics in the game.

Today, we cover Cuirass of The Falling Star in-depth: How it works, where to get it, and the best builds and fashion around it.

Cuirass of The Falling Star: How to master it

The gameplay loop to get the Cuirass of The Falling Star going is as straightforward as it gets.

Exotic Perk: "Greatly increases your Thundercrash impact damage. Gain an overshield that lasts longer the farther you travel before striking a target."

Cuirass of The Falling Star is all about increasing the damage of your Super, so technically, you just need to equip the Striker Arc 3.0 subclass, the Thundercrash Super, and Cuirass of The Falling Star to unleash a devastating blow to a Boss, Champion, or opposing Guardians.

How it works: The numbers

From Light.gg’s community research:

  • Thundercrash deals 100% more damage.

On Thundercrash Deactivation:

  • Gain a 100 HP Overshield for 7 seconds.
  • Overshield Duration scales with Thundercrash distance, up to a max of 20 seconds.

Best Cuirass of The Falling Star Arc 3.0 Builds

We consider Cuirass of The Falling Star to be one of the:

There are a couple of synergies and builds that can make this exotic even better. Our favorite Cuirass of The Falling Star Titan build is the following (inspired by Divide):

Excels In: Mid to Endgame PvE content (Dungeons, Raids, Grandmaster Nightfalls)

Goal of the Build: User your abilities, elemental wells, and even a specific weapon to regenerate your Super as fast as possible.

Mandatory gear: Cuirass of the Fallen Star is the only mandatory part of this build, but weapons that help regenerate your Super will be helpful, for example, Bad Juju.

  • Aspects: Touch of Thunder and Knockout.
  • Fragments: Spark of Recharge, Spark of Magnitude, Spark of Resistance, Spark of Beacons.
  • Abilities: Truster.
  • Stats: Discipline and Resilience (for damage resistance).
  • Mods: No mods are needed for this build to function. However, these can enhance your build:

Gameplay Loop

Your start by generating an Arc well by getting a grenade kill (which is why grenades are such an essential part of this build). This alone will improve your Super’s regeneration. In parallel, use your Class ability near enemies to further regen your Super.

Once your Super is ready, kill an ad with your melee to become amplified and increase the power of your Thundercrash furthermore (thanks to Thunderous Retort).

Cuirass of The Falling Star Ornaments and Fashion

This Exotic looks quite good as is, and good-looking fashion builds are definitely possible. This is some of the best Cuirass of The Falling Star fashion we’ve seen so far (from Youtubers Krypz and MuffinBandit):

How to get Cuirass of The Falling Star

Most Exotic armor can be found within Exotic Engrams: These can be found in the Season pass; they are sold by Xur and can also drop randomly at any time.

Destiny 2 Exotic Engram

There isn’t much more to say about Exotic engrams, only that they have a higher chance to drop from end-game activities. If collecting exotics is your priority, Nightfall: The Ordeals are for you. And the higher the difficulty, the higher the chance of getting one.

Alternatively, you can farm Legend and Master Lost Sectors solo on days that Chest armor is dropping (Lost Sector rewards are on a daily rotation, one day will reward Legs pieces, the next day only Arms pieces, etc). You can find the Lost Sectors daily rotation here.
